Edits to Iran-Iraq War[edit]

Hi PersianStealth1,

I'm sorry that you seem to have taken so much offense to my copy edits on the Iran–Iraq war, but they really were just that – copy edits. The edit you keep undoing was an edit of yours that I had accidentally deleted (I think I was going to format it and then somehow got distracted). To see exactly what an edit was, on the history page, click "prev" next to an edit to see what changes that edit made. If you do that on the edit of mine that you reversed, you'll see that I re-added that Operation Mersad came from مرساد "ambush".

If you take a look at WP:ONLYREVERT, you'll notice that Wikipedia policy is to only revert an edit when necessary, and that on Help:Reverting, users are encouraged to manually revert the changes they object to rather than undoing everything. In this case, you could have simply changed the statement you wanted instead of undoing all of the grammatical changes I made.

I'm also sorry that you feel I was being sneaky or attempting to change edits behind people's backs. I had assumed that the lack of more objections on the talk page meant we had reached a consensus – that was wrong of me. I should have clearly asked if we had reached a consensus.

I trust that in the future, you will look at my edits before undoing them. I also hope you'll take a look at the edit summary – I've never changed that statement without explicitly saying so (at least, I don't think I have).

Thank you,

P.S. When you want to leave a comment on another editor's page, you should edit their talk page, not their actual user page. The user page is kind of like a profile page for Wikipedia activities (see WP:USER). Click the "Talk" tab in the menu when viewing a user page and edit that, then click "New Section" to make a new comment/thread. That way, the user gets a giant orange alert saying that their talk page was edited. For more help, I've included the welcome message that was put on my talk page when I first got here, which has a bunch of really useful links:
