Candidates
Hey. Please note that I've deleted some of the articles you had created about candidates for various seats in the US Congress. This is because running for office at that level is not, in itself, an indicator of notability; you'd have to show that a candidate for Congress is notable in addition to being a candidate for Congress. The coverage that a candidate for Congress gets, as a direct result of being a candidate for Congress, is not enough. (And no, 'being a Congressional aide' or 'getting the Outstanding Civilian Service Award' aren't indicators either.)
I'm not deleting your articles wholesale; I'm reading them individually, and for any article about a candidate, I'm looking for any assertions of notability aside from their candidacy. So far, I haven't found any, but if I do, I'll leave those articles alone. And if I delete an article about a candidate, and then that candidate wins, I will have no objection to the article being restored on the grounds -- being an elected official at that level is certainly an indicator of notability.

- Okay, I'm done picking through the articles that you created about people because they were candidates. You made sufficient assertions of notability for eleven articles: Amanda Renteria, David Trott, Alan Cohn, Suzanne Patrick, Irv Halter, Michael Wager (Ohio), Nick Casey, Martha Robertson, Ann Callis, Jerry Cannon, and Michelle Nunn. I deleted eleven others -- Gwen Graham, Erin Bilbray, Kevin Strouse, Jessica Ehrlich, Matt Bevin, Rocky Lara, John Lewis (Montana politician), Paul Clements, Corinna Robinson, Jim Mowrer, and John Hugya -- on the grounds that you did not show any notability for them other than being candidates. The flaw (if you consider it a 'flaw') is not in the men and women themselves, but in the articles you wrote about them; perhaps they're VERY notable, but how should I know -- you didn't say anything to indicate that. If you choose to write further articles about people who are running for Congress, please look at the 11 articles that I did not delete, and consider what they have in common. - Grumble mumble. Okay, consensus clearly differs on this particular point. Those ten articles are restored, and I've asked another editor to spend the next ten days fixing them up (or else I'll be forced to take them to AfD). I politely request that if you write further articles on people who are candidates for office, you do your best to include details about their notability in more ways than just being candidates, though. Little boxes
Hey—thanks for the infobox and stats on Every Student Succeeds Act. Question. Your edit adds a bunch of numbers that don't read well in prose. It would seem to follow that these breakdown might be historically important or interesting for the reader but better displayed visually. You appear to be more familiar with this area of WP than me so do you know of a sidebar box that does this type of vote breakdown so we can remove it from the prose? To be clear, I think the main House/Senate votes are fine for the prose but the breakdown by party has a little bit too much going on with the numbers (and I also wouldn't want to mention it unless a secondary, reliable thought the party line vote was important), though I think moving it to a sidebar would be a good idea. czar 18:50, 11 December 2015 (UTC)

I stand by both of the edits of yours that I undid; the article was simply more accurate before your edits than after, especially in the case of the second edit. - The 1824 election had many States legislatively selecting Electors. There was no popular vote in those States and so there was no nationwide popular vote. The supposed "popular vote" in that election consists of the States in which Electors were selected by the people. What the nationwide popular vote would have been if all States had popularly selected their Electors is unknown. Any reference to the 1824 election should include this fact and should not be put that election on a par with the other listed elections that had all Electors popularly selected and so do each have a nationwide popular vote. - The national popular vote was recorded for the first time in 1824 by Congress and it would be pointless and artificial to set a later date for the popular vote "counting." We don't know who might have won the popular vote if all states had held a popular vote, but Jackson won the popular vote among votes cast, and it's factually inaccurate to say that Trump is the fourth person to win the presidency while losing the popular vote. Numerous reliable sources, some of which are now cited in the article, support this position. Your edit turned a factual statement into a non-factual statement. 2020 Senate Map
Orser, as you may be aware, Jeff Sessions is no longer representing Alabama in the US Senate as he has been confirmed as Attorney General. Governor Robert Bentley appointed Luther Strange to the Senate seat. Strange will hold the seat until at least the 2018 special election, although he had declared himself as a candidate in the election. Although Alabama is a Republican stronghold, it would be more representative for the 2020 senate map to have Alabama shaded in black for undetermined incumbent rather than assuming a Republican incumbent before the special election. - Thanks for the helpful reminder, Count Awesome (I like your username btw), I'll try to remember to update the map in the next couple days. You're absolutely right that it should be marked as "undetermined incumbent" until after the 2018 election. If you're feeling adventurous, you could try to update the map yourself. I use a free program called GIMP which is fairly intuitive; on a basic level, it's not that much more complicated to use than MS Paint, for comparison. Orser67 (talk) 02:00, 11 February 2017 (UTC)
