Good luck with your project!

For this assignment, I will be editing the article “Daniel Stern (psychologist)” from Wikipedia. The article is 1,389 words with a review on Wikipedia that states “Compared with good quality articles, this article lacks content, references, structure, and links to relevant materials.” Therefore, I believe that this article is in need of some major modifications.

Three new references: A book: Stern, D. (1999). Vitality contours: The temporal contours of feelings as a basic unit for constructing the infant's social experience. In P. Rochat (Ed.), Early Social Cognition: Understanding Others in the First Month of Life (pp. 67-74). Mahwah, NJ: Lawrence Erlbaum Associates.

A journal article: Siegel, D. J. (2001). Toward an interpersonal neurobiology of the developing mind: Attachment relationships, "mindsight," and neural integration. Infant Mental Health Journal, 22(1-2), 67-94.

Outline for Editing “Daniel Stern (psychologist)”

The article that I have chosen to edit is “Daniel Stern (psychologist).” This article gives a strong, but vague, outline of Daniel Stern and his psychological concepts. It does not go into depth on many of the concepts. And it is written in more of a bullet style than in paragraphs. While this article has some good information, it is poorly written and vague. I will need to add additional information and edit the piece for grammar. Also, I will change the setup of the article.

Here is what I plan to do: 1. Expand and rewrite the biography of Daniel Stern. a. It is currently poorly written and quite vague. 2. Rewrite the topic of the layered self. a. Currently, it is poorly written and confusing. 3. Expand upon the topic of “The motherhood constellation” a. Currently there is only a short paragraph on a rather extensive topic. 4. Expand upon the “Proto-narratives” a. Currently only a shirt paragraph with little detail. 5. Rewrite the section on “Psychoanalytic controversies and wider influences” a. I will make subheadings to specify this section further. b. Expand upon the topics within this section. 6. Recreate accurate headings. a. Reorganize the information into a more cohesive presentation. 7. Add footnotes because as of now there are none. 8. I will utilize the references that are already on the Wikipedia article. a. The article does not utilize the current references to the extent that it could.
