No Guest ever died because of the park

From the Hersheypark article, "Hersheypark is one of the safest amusement parks in the world. It has never had a fatal accident. Of the 1.4 million visitors to the park in 2006, 55 people were injured at Hersheypark during the year, none seriously." No where does it say there have been no guest fatalities. Even then, there is no citation that supports that fact.
Also, your citation to the Harrisburg Patriot-News regarding safety is a dead link.
If you wish to include information regarding Hersheypark's safety, please find references to support that claim.

This is an article from the Reading Eagle regarding the investigation into William Harter's death while working at Hersheypark.
The link you posted is about a safety worker and the daily inspection he does of Lightning Racer. I don't see anywhere in there that talks about Hersheypark's overall safety record when compared the rest of the amusement park industry.
For purposes of the Hersheypark article, any claims regarding fatalities and safety should have citations. Otherwise, it comes across as POV. Hersheypark maybe one of the safest amusement parks in the world, but something like that should have a citation that backs it up. Nybound (talk) 20:18, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

My qualm is that the current statement in the Hersheypark article is that there have been no fatal accidents. It doesn't distinguish between guest and employee. That is incorrect as there has been at least one death of an employee that has a verifiable source. Even to modify this to no guest fatalities should have some attributable source. Not knowing of one versus there not being one are not the same.
To illustrate this, I'm pretty sure there was a guest fatality in the late 80's/early 90's. This was during a private, corporate day at Hersheypark. But, I cannot find any reference to cite. That doesn't mean that it didn't happen. I just wouldn't feel comfortable posting that to Wikipedia without something to back me up.
If there was an article out there that compared the safety of amusement parks, and it showed Hersheypark near the top - then the safety section is valid. Without it, the section comes across as conjecture. Nybound (talk) 20:52, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]
