Hello Moonraker. Thank you for your welcome and encouragement! It is nice to know my contributions are appreciated and to have someone I can turn to in case I encounter a problem. Contributing images seems to be going OK so far; editing text or creating a new page is much more daunting.

On my list of contributions I see that some are marked 'current' and others are not. Is there any special reason for this difference ?

An edit marked "current" is the most recent one for the page. So if your latest edit is not marked as current, another editor has changed the page since you did. Moonraker (talk) 22:45, 3 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The short bio was based on the Dutch Wikipedia, 'Jan van Vlaanderen'. I just added a translation reference to this page on the 'Talk' page of John of Flanders. I am completely new with the process of providing sources, I hope it is OK now.

I found a reference and added it. Looks like nlwiki had the date of death wrong. (nlwiki is extremely sloppy when it comes to sourcing, and Wikipedia itself never counts as a reliable source. 2019 US Banknote Contest[edit]

US Banknote Contest

November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.
