Speedy deletion of Potash One[edit]

A tag has been placed on Potash One requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Hi. I'm afraid that your temporary version also utilizes text directly from the company website, which we can only do if that text meets our non-free content criteria or if we receive permission by the processes described above. In addition to non-text components (lists of names are not governable by copyright protection unless they are creative--for example, a list of the "best drummers in the world" represents opinion in selection, so you could not duplicate that, but a list of scientists employed by a firm is just straightforward fact), there are only five sentences in the article. The first two were copied from http://www.tirexresources.com/s/Home.asp. The third duplicates the first. The fourth follows too closely on that site, with runs of identical text or superficial differences. The final sentence, "While there are 17 known historical deposits on Tirex’s property that were found during previous Albanian state-run exploration programs (9 of which were in production), Tirex is conducting the first ever large-scale, modern exploration of this District using modern geological interpretation, technology and techniques" seems to include some original text, but also draws text from other sources (for instance: "the first ever large scale modern exploration of this District" from http://www.midasletter.com/news/2008_Archive/08091001_Tirex-commences-drilling.php.) If you wish to rewrite this article, please do so completely in your own language. As long as the information comes from a cited source, you don't need to duplicate the language (and must not, to comply with our copyright policy.

Since both the original and temporary versions infringe on copyright, I am deleting them. This doesn't mean you can't write a new article in that space. If you choose to do and would like me to save you some time by giving you back the non-text elements (the infobox and lists), please let me know at my talk page. I'd be happy to provide those to you. But please also be aware that as you have been contracted to write this page by the company, you will need to proceed carefully to remain within our conflict of interest guidelines. Sandboxed[edit]

Okay. I've placed it in a "sandbox" in your userspace for further development. You'll find it here: User:Newdesignnow/sandbox. When you get it into shape, it can be moved to article space by the process here: Help:Moving a page. This process is restricted to experienced contributors (not because it's hard, but because it has been abused by vandals), but the experience requirements are low; you should have plenty enough experience by the time you're ready. If you don't, just let me know, and I'll gladly move it for you.

In answer to your question, no, I'm afraid you can't put back exactly what you have. I work on copyright concerns on Wikipedia quite a lot, and I know it can be a pain to find original ways to phrase material, but unfortunately we have to unless the company is prepared to offer us permission as described above. Wikipedia tries not to utilize "fair use" allowances more than we must because our goal is to make our text usable by as many people in as many places as we can. Wikipedia's text can (and is) modified and reproduced commercially. While many companies are quite happy to have us include text on their services, they are not all happy to release their material into commercial domain without compensation. Any text you use that is taken from a source that is not public domain or otherwise licensed compatibly with our own GFDL must be marked with quotations mark and properly attributed, but these should be used only when necessary, for instance if there is no other way to put it or if it is expressing an opinion. (Since we try to be neutral here, we let reliable sources not connected to the subject express opinions about it.)

But the text you had should be fairly easy to reorganize, partially just by putting it in the standard order of a Wikipedia article:

For example as a start:

Tirex Resources is a Canadian mining company headquartered in Vancouver, Canada with focused efforts in Albania.^[1] Since year, the company has been investigating mining options on a 344 square kilometer property in the Mirditë District, interest in which it acquired in year.

I know little about mining companies, so I don't know if that's an accurate descriptor or not, but I hope that this will demonstrate how to put it in new language but still convey the same information. (And feel free to use any of the language above if it is useful to you.) Hi. It's a good start, but there's a few issues that need addressing. The text: "Tirex Resources - we don't simply own a great project.. we own a great DISTRICT" is not appropriate by itself in a Wikipedia article, as it is not neutral. If it is the company's motto, you can quote it, if you attribute it (and cite it) and explain what it is. Even then, there's a chance that people will view it as promotional and object to it in article space. Obviously, we don't a host website for companies, and Wikipedia is not affiliated with the company, so any text that includes the word "we" is going to be inappropriate unless it's a direct quotation. Also in my sample text (which I'm glad has been useful to you), I wrote "acquired in year" with the thought that you could supply the year. :) I don't know it. As the article is now, I suspect that if you moved it into article space it would run into notability concerns. Ideally, you would offer more reliable sources that refer to the company; best are sources from newspapers and journals. Even if those are not available, you should include a sentence that makes clear what makes this particularly company of encyclopedic importance. That's a bit tricky to do without stepping over the line into promotion, which can get the article deleted for other reasons. It's best if you can say something neutrally about the company's accomplishments or standing. Since I don't know those things about this company, I'll offer some random examples: "Haversham's Haberdashery is the oldest hat shop in the greater London area, in continuous operation since 1762." "Since its inception, Public Properties Ltd. has expanded internationally, employing 300 realtors in 20 countries." The former is a strong assertion of notability. The latter, not so much. Proposed deletion of Bryan Slusarchuk[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Bryan Slusarchuk, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Unable to identify any coverage about the subject . . . coverage involving him was quotations in passing about the companies he works for—and most of those are press releases.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
