First, I want to thank you for helping to straighten out the articles on the Auditory system. I wanted to get your opinion on something. I agree with this edit of yours, and I just found another closely related article at Tympanic cavity that might need similar treatment. But I wasn't sure which direction the merge should go, and it sounds like this is your area of expertise. For now, I just added links on Middle ear and Tympanic cavity to the other, but if you could take a look at them, I'd appreciate it. - Thanks for the acknowledgement. Sometimes I don't know where to start with these pages.
- In this specific case, I think that people use "middle ear" to refer to both the volume between the tympanum and cochlea, and to the ossicles and muscles within it. Specifically, I found that usage on Pujol's page about the cochlea (Promenade Around the Cochlea). So, I edited Middle ear to reflect this usage, and need to adjust the link from Cavum tympani to Tympanic cavity.
- Do you know whether the Latin or the Anglicized versions of anatomic terms are preferred in the Wikipedia? I personally would prefer the Anglicized names because it is an English encyclopedia. Neurogeek 18:15, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

Hey, you say that you're pretty involved with the auditory system? Do you have any idea why Diisopropyltryptamine messes up hearing so much? I think that the answer to the question "why?" would be a very nice addition to the article. Hi. Wondered if you fancied explaining why you introduced a bunch of external links to the Portman Road article which referred to the KC stadium in this edit? I've removed the section altogether because it's unnecessary at the moment but I was curious why you thought KC stadium links were relevant... all the best... - I am still learning Wikipedia style, but I think this modification was correct given my lack of subject-matter knowledge.
- That was intended to be a revision to a previous version of the page. Recent Changes showed that someone deleted some of the external links. The deleted links were links to the stadium's web site, while the remaining link was a third-party web site. I noticed it because it came up in Recent Changes; I know almost nothing about this subject. I considered deleting all of the third-party links, but I don't know enough about the subject to determine whether they are relevant. Neurogeek (talk) 18:23, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.
For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
