Creating new articles[edit]

It is always worth having a good read around of similar articles before you start the one you wish to do to see the conventions required - also lists in the Indonesian project are seriously frowned upon - for a lot of reasons - creatng them as a new editor make you a sitting duck for serious problems - believe me! Where?[edit]

Oh where did you get your information? You have some issues you need to read before jumping or walking - WP:N, WP:NOT (Wikipedia is not a collections of lists), WP:V, WP:RS, and probably a heap of all others as well - dont be suprised if you Bali lists come up for deletion - and also - WP:CITE - the info does not come out of thin air Satu Suro 03:01, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edge Chronicles[edit]

Hi there! Are you still interested in working on the Wikipedia pages for the Edge Chronicles? I'm inclined to suggest that we could pull together some of the multiple pages which have been created, organise them and aim for a GA status. OK[edit]

Some advice in the first place -

Balinese do not have geographical features that start with every letter in the alphabet
Bali is a small place - you create - if it is really necessary - an article not a list
Copyright is a serious issue - that information is coming from where? it needs WP:CITE
Read around - do any of the other islands of Indonesia have articles like this?
Do you notice they belong to a project - go there and work through what is in the project
Categories are very important for articles - do you have hot cat in your prefs activiated?
Have you read up about lists WP:LISTS and WP:NOT
Try something a little smaller next time - and work slowly through it

Speak with other editors in the Indonesian project - have a look at the list of Indonesian Volcanoes - see how good lists are made and produced. Ask people things before jumping - it can help in the long run - cheers Satu Suro 03:13, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Language[edit]

It is very clear that you have a list with Indonesian words for the names of the rivers - naming conventions in English Wikipedia is that we use the English versions

tukad and danau are not usually known by the average english speaker - there is a lot of copy editing to be done - as well as showing where it came from Satu Suro 03:34, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window.
