Disambiguation link notification for January 16[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Links have all been updated. The Disturbed link seemed fine to begin with but was reloaded as a precaution.

Sources for Lou Brutus[edit]

You've added Lou Brutus as a notable to the articles for Manalapan Township, New Jersey, Manalapan High School, Englishtown, New Jersey and List of people from Newark, New Jersey‎ using this source as a reference. The problem is that the source makes no mention of Manalapan or Englishtown or Newark or of the high school he attended. The article for Brutus does mention all of these places, but there are no reliable and verifiable sources in his article to support the claim. Please find an appropriate source (or sources) to support these claims, as otherwise these entries as a notable will be removed per Wikipedia policy. Please feel free to contact me on my talk page with any questions. Alansohn (talk) 15:58, 16 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for pointing out the lack of geographic bio details in the article we used to reference the subject. We've pulled them from the pages you mentioned. As an alternate source, we intend to use the subject's own biography from his website siting Wikipedia's Verifiability rules stating: Self-published and questionable sources may be used as sources of information about themselves, usually in articles about themselves or their activities, without the self-published source requirement that they be published experts in the field, so long as: the material is neither unduly self-serving nor an exceptional claim; it does not involve claims about events not directly related to the source; there is no reasonable doubt as to its authenticity; Thanks again for your help and guidance! Other help, guidance or advice is most appreciated! MusicMediaMatters (talk) 18:23, 16 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the reply. I would have removed the material myself from the articles if it appeared unsourceable, but I saw that you had removed the references from these articles already. per WP:SELFPUB, using a source from the individual himself about his place of birth, where he lived and went to school would be entirely appropriate in this case. Again, let me know if I can help, especially with anything related to New Jersey. Alansohn (talk) 18:56, 16 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
