UK counties[edit]

Hi, Many of your posts here [1] are welcome but not well structured and not focused enough. Consequently, they detract from the message you are giving and from the impact of the point you are trying to make. Some other editors have commented on this. You are new to WP so you may not be familiar with some of the rules of etiquette or simply how best to operate the software to self-edit. Other editors cannot edit your posts, except in limited circumstances, without your express permission. Do I have your permission to alter and/or remove some of your posts? If I do this I will not change the meaning or the intent of what you have said, but I will make your posts more readable. Roger 8 Roger (talk) 21:18, 12 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Roger, Since we appear to be the only two recognising the real issue, I can hold my breath a bit. Succinctly. The 'lack of focus' has a root cause of editors inability to recognise and respond to specific topic. This limitation may be a result of this topic longevity - I suspect not.

Structure, etiquette and software will always be limited when new users are not given even the slightest idea where to begin, let alone help. I have put in hours of research and found so many structural issues with wp I scarcely know where to begin, so I won't.

I also have editorial limitation in that the keyboard I am using is for some reason not fully compatible with the software - 'special' keys are not providing the symbol user expects.

I would like to see this through, but I am not sure it's even possible.Mikewhit (talk) 10:03, 14 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I will allow you to make changes, thankyou. I also have a proposal. You and I collaborate directly wrt this task. From my prospective, I offer a potential solution which does not involving splitting, or parallel, 'county' or 'place' pages.Mikewhit (talk) 11:09, 14 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
