National varieties of English[edit]

Information icon Hello. In a recent edit to the page SpaceX Mars program, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. Longhair\talk 06:55, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

September 2021[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Arjayay. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Middle Belt, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 09:20, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

List of Kashmiri Pandits moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, List of Kashmiri Pandits, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. December 2021[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Germans does not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits a summary may be quite brief.

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Rsk6400 (talk) 12:59, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

January 2022[edit]

Hi LNB91Y302. I see you are fairly new here and I have picked up on a couple of minor points:

  • Subhas Chandra Bose – the original entry for spouse was equivocal because the sources are. Both "or companion" and "secretly married ..." are supported by references to cited works. To change this you need to find an reliable source that says otherwise.
  • Hotstar – the formatting was wrong. Please always use the "preview" button to check that the computers are doing what you want them to do!
  • Azad Hind – I've left it alone, since the reader won't see things. However the following three parameters are not understood by the template: "leader", "title_ leader1 and "year_leader". See template:Infobox country.
  • Damodar Rao of Jhansi – I've tidied the list of spouses slightly by following the example in template:Infobox royalty.

I'm sorry if this seems to be a list of complaints, but I'm afraid this is down to inexperience. You need to read the template documentation before changing templates. I still check up the parameters and I've been editing for over a decade with 15,000 edits just on the English Wikipedia. You also need to get into the habit of using the preview button that shows you the effect of your changes before you commit, then read the result just in case things haven't worked out correctly.

Now for the praise: you are clearly well intentioned and trying to improve the encyclopedia. Thank you.

Finally, please do not be put off by advice in the early stages of editing, like anything else it is a skill to be learnt. If you want help of advice feel free to approach me, or to use template:help me. Martin of Sheffield (talk) 09:09, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for June 15[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Russians in Kazakhstan, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Georgia. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:07, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
