KSI discography

Hello Kyle, do you think that you could help to resolve a dispute in KSI's discography. An editor is claiming KSI is not a featured artist on Nathan Dawe - Lighter (feat. KSI), but instead a main artist. See the talk page for more info. Your help would be very appreciated. Thanks -- Timwikisidemen 13:03, 15 January 2021 (UTC).

Timwikisidemen I have chimed in to the discussion now, thank you for seeking out others to try and solve the dispute properly. --K. Peake 13:09, 15 January 2021 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

The Tireless Contributor Barnstar
For tirelessly contributing and reviewing GA nominations. This is for your consistent efforts. :) Ashleyyoursmile! 19:47, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
Ashleyyoursmile Massive thanks for the barnstar, I have enjoyed reviewing your GANs like I always enjoy contributing to work on the GANs page! --K. Peake 21:19, 15 January 2021 (UTC)

Hey Kyle. I was wondering if you could make it a priority to review Lodger (album)? I wanna take it to FAC but wanna make it a GA first and frankly, I don't wanna wait long :-P. To return the favor, I would happily review one of your GANs next time you nominate one (unless you have one up now, then I'd review that – I haven't checked the page in awhile). I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks :-) – zmbro (talk) 21:55, 16 January 2021 (UTC)

Zmbro Yes, I would be happy to review it sometime soon but one piece of advice I'd give to you is to try and use "the album" and the title once a para each. --K. Peake 06:05, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
Zmbro Had a lot on my plate here recently, but I will review two more articles before doing Lodger; how does that sound to you? --K. Peake 07:30, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
Yep take your time! :-) – zmbro (talk) 15:34, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
Zmbro I will be glad to take it on soon, but I would like to ask does it matter what I said about writing the title or "the album" more than once in a para or is that considered to be acceptable? --K. Peake 19:31, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
Everyone has different writing styles. For me, I'm only going to mention the album title or "the album" when it warrants it. You definitely shouldn't force it. When I'm reading an article I'm not going to forget what I'm reading every 2-3 sentences. Also, during Hunky Dory's FAC run, I received complaints that I wrote "the album" and the title WAY too often, so I've tried my best to limit use of those; I also sometimes try to use "record" instead of "album" for variety. That make sense? – zmbro (talk) 20:35, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
Yeah that is totally understandable because everyone has their own writing style really, but I was more questioning if there was a MOS rule of sorts about how much a title should be mentioned per para in the lead though there isn't I guess. Reviewing should go well tomorrow! --K. Peake 21:42, 18 January 2021 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

The Good Article Barnstar

Your GA nomination of Clique (song)

The article Clique (song) you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Clique (song) for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of The Ultimate Boss -- The Ultimate Boss (talk) 19:42, 22 January 2021 (UTC)

Hey Kyle! I was wondering if you could help me out? I am hoping to bring Don't Start Now to FA in the future but in my peer review of the article, I was told that my prose could use some work. I was hoping you could help me with it as you always do such a great job on the proses of GAs. Thanks. LOVI33 15:12, 23 January 2021 (UTC)

LOVI33 Hello there, thanks for your comments; I will try to take a look tomorrow. --K. Peake 22:01, 23 January 2021 (UTC)
LOVI33 I am not going to go into too much detail since this is not an actual FAC. But I would suggest for the lead to only write the title once a para, use the song instead of the track for consistency and avoid overusage of it (the latter of the three is present throughout). I also think you need to use more appropriate tense for the critical reception, as the song still exists in the same form after the reviews so words like "is" should often be used in place of those like "was". --K. Peake 13:54, 25 January 2021 (UTC)
Thanks so much Kyle Peake! I have implemented your suggestions. I have also just nominated it for FA. Could you leave some comments on it? That would help me out a lot. LOVI33 22:42, 25 January 2021 (UTC)
LOVI33 Yes I will later today; I have nominated Kids See Ghosts for FA if you would care to leave any comments. --K. Peake 07:23, 26 January 2021 (UTC)
Thanks so much! I'll will take a look at Kids See Ghosts later today. LOVI33 13:24, 26 January 2021 (UTC)

FAC

Hey Kyle, thanks for passing "100k on a Coupe". I was wondering if you could leave some comments for "Mood Swings" at FAC? The Ultimate Boss (talk) 07:10, 25 January 2021 (UTC)

The Ultimate Boss Yes I will try to later today. --K. Peake 07:45, 25 January 2021 (UTC)
The Ultimate Boss It was good to leave my comments yesterday, but do you think you can contribute some for Kids See Ghosts at FAC? --K. Peake 08:33, 26 January 2021 (UTC)

Lighter (Nathan Dawe song) GA review

Hi Kyle, sorry about a few incomplete changes being marked as done. Hopefully the article is better now. Thanks --Timwikisidemen 17:03, 28 January 2021 {UTC)

Timwikisidemen Make sure to check properly that you have implemented the changes before marking them as done; the article looks a good amount better and all you need to do now is wikilink Billboard Global Excl. U.S. as done here and fix the Apple Music/Spotify refs accordingly. --K. Peake 17:10, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
Thank you for your work on Lighter (Nathan Dawe song). Hope to work with you again in the future -- Timwikisidemen 21:01, 28 January 2021 (UTC)

Dior

I was wondering if you could review the "Dior" GAN? It has almost been a year since Pop Smoke was murdered and I want to honor him by making one of his mixtapes good topic. The Ultimate Boss (talk) 08:36, 1 February 2021 (UTC)

The Ultimate Boss I will try to review the article sometime soon, but that will likely be in a day or more's time. As for the GT, that is great to aim for and good luck with the mixtape when it is nominated! --K. Peake 13:04, 1 February 2021 (UTC)

Dancing on My Own Revisit

I'll be waiting a month or two to submit any GA re-nomination if someone else doesn't first to let the dust settle from yesterday's situation with another editor. Felt you deserved a status update. I'm not sure if you'd even be the one addressing the new submission but I addressed most of the work you had done so far for the Intro and Inspiration as reflected with the checklist in its Talk section. If you do end up doing it I'll do my best to address each point that comes up including cuts. Thanks again for your time. Onan808 (talk) 17:05, 3 February 2021 (UTC)

Onan808 I would have suggested re-opening the review, but if it is as far as a month or more like is appropriate, then it will be best to open a new one. Thank you for your effort to address the concerns as well as negotiate with me! --K. Peake 19:01, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
I should've looked up the difference between re-opening a prior review vs. opening a new one altogether. Is doing the former a matter of simply undoing the action on the talk page? Onan808 (talk) 23:43, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
The easiest way is to undo this edit which was not a method discussed at Wikipedia:Good article nominations/Instructions. Since there is no formal method of withdrawing a nomination, Onan808 should ask Kyle to put it on hold until further notice. At that time, the review can be resumed. Note that Wikipedia:Good article criteria includes the requirement for an article to be written with concise prose. Binksternet (talk) 00:00, 4 February 2021 (UTC)
Given your actions thus far I was the impression you could, no would override/force that process but I guess you need my words verbatim: Kyle, please put this nomination on hold. If there's a way to give a suggestion on Wiki adding a formal process at some point in the future of withdrawing a nomination I'd love to see it. I was originally going to work with Kyle alone on edits to satisfy Good Article Criteria but solely because you're involved I'm no longer interested. Thanks. Onan808 (talk) 18:09, 4 February 2021 (UTC)
Onan808 I have re-opened the review now and placed it on hold, but how long should I wait until making further comments? --K. Peake 18:47, 4 February 2021 (UTC)
Hi Kyle, please don't wait - you can start edits again. I originally was going to let the nomination run out of the clock after it's ~7 day hold window to be rejected as I wasn't interested following Binksternet's involvement but I didn't want to put your effort thus far to waste nor continue to waste your time. I'll address that editor's issues/behavior on a case by case basis when and if it comes up but for now you'll see I addressed your points with a checklist on the Talk Page from what you posted so far that I just completed. The amount of time any large cuts will take once you get further down will probably take longer than the seven day window so the article will likely get rejected anyways but at least some progress will get made. Thanks again for your help Onan808 (talk) 12:23, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
Onan808 I will most likely look at the review again today, though I will verify whether you have implemented the suggested changes before going over other sections. Also, you do not need to worry about the probability of the on hold status remaining for over a week, as it is only advised to give this status to articles for such a timeframe, meaning exceptions can easily be made especially for massive articles like the one in question. --K. Peake 14:41, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
I wasn't sure if you had seen my new response to your other comment on my Talk page so I'm copy/pasting it here. If you already had, please disregard this and/or delete, etc. First, thanks again for your time. I'll continue my system on the talk page addressing each of the points one by one when I can and will personally sign them that I'll expect you won't obviously have to follow back-up on one-by-one as that would be quite time consuming, etc. - I'm not sure of your system but can certainly address what I can then renominate. Each point response is mostly for me to have it on the record in the meantime in case someone else picks up substantial edits. My own personal renomination may take weeks or months from now, depending on the activity of other users including their requests for a review and changes.Onan808 (talk) 17:07, 8 February 2021 (UTC)

AFD

Update I have nominated 100k on a Coupe, Christopher Walking, and War (Pop Smoke song) if you want to participate. The Ultimate Boss (talk) 04:03, 9 February 2021 (UTC)

The Ultimate Boss I appreciate the good faith edits, but none of these should be AFDs. Two of them passed as GAs under my watch because they met the notability and good article criteria, also looking at "Christopher Walking", it seems to be notable too. I would suggest retracting these three nominations immediately, as there is no real case. --K. Peake 06:24, 9 February 2021 (UTC)

Ga

I’ll respond to the GA for Shake the Room tomorrow, but can you review Leave It All to Me? It is a short article. The Ultimate Boss (talk) 09:41, 10 February 2021 (UTC)

The Ultimate Boss Unfortunately I am in the midst of another review right now, so it may be another day or two until I get to the above article. Look forward to seeing your response tomorrow though! --K. Peake 10:10, 10 February 2021 (UTC)

I have finished responding to your concerns for the GA. The Ultimate Boss (talk) 15:07, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

The Ultimate Boss That is good and I will a look now; did not do so earlier because your mention was not received by me for some reason. --K. Peake 15:35, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

GA

Can you review the GA for “Hello”? The article is short so I’ll be able to respond quickly. The Ultimate Boss (talk) 07:33, 18 February 2021 (UTC)

The Ultimate Boss Hello (in the literal sense), I will review "Leave It All to Me" first since that is of a similar size but it is older. Afterwards, I'll see what I've got and may take on "Hello". --K. Peake 07:38, 18 February 2021 (UTC)

AfD double voting

Hello, I have struck your 2nd vote in this and this AfD, as you cannot vote multiple times within the same discussion. A relisted discussion is done to help determine a clearer consensus by inviting additional expressions of opinion into the discussion from uninvolved editors, not to allow existing contributors to the discussion an opportunity to revote. If you have additional comments to make, you can reply to your original vote or write a new entry that clearly states it is a "comment". Thanks. Bungle (talkcontribs) 18:54, 24 February 2021 (UTC)

Bungle Sorry, I thought it was considered fine to submit a vote again after relisting like it was a reelection. --K. Peake 21:44, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
Hi, that isn't how it works. In a discussion, votes/opinions/comments are all considered from the start of the AfD. A relist is simply a way of inviting additional editors to express an opinion in the hope that more opinions can provide a clearer overall consensus. Bungle (talkcontribs) 22:40, 24 February 2021 (UTC)

Hey Kyle! I made a few edits to Flashing Lights (Kanye West song) last night and noticed something that I wanted your opinion on. At the top, there's a notice saying "not to be confused with "All of the Lights"". That page has the same notice – "not to be confused with "Flashing Lights". I didn't look into when these were put on there, but are these really necessary? Imo, those two songs aren't really indistinguishable, and West has made it clear on numerous occasions that he's obsessed with lights: here, here, here, here, and not to mention the two above. The point is, I think these notices on these two pages can be removed, but I wanted to know your thoughts on the subject first before it got reverted. Thanks man.

Side note: "Flashing Lights" could really use a good clean-up (the majority of the commercial performance refs are dead and couldn't be saved by the bot). – zmbro (talk) 20:26, 26 February 2021 (UTC)

Zmbro Thank for notifying me of this hatnote's appearance on both of the articles. I believe it is unwarranted and fully support the removal, as the songs are highly unlikely to be confused with one another due to West having released many songs related to lights like you pointed out and how apart from that, they have literally no words in common. I do think "Flashing Lights" is lacking somewhat, which is unfortunate because it is one of West's classics; I may expand it in the future for a potential GA since the song does have enough coverage, how's that sound? --K. Peake 21:32, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for the input! I've removed them both. "Flashing Lights" is for sure lacking; definitely one of his classics. – zmbro (talk) 23:30, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
Zmbro It is fine and good move on your part; I will probably expand it in the future, but right now I'm more focused on West's 808s work. --K. Peake 07:27, 27 February 2021 (UTC)
