NPA[edit]

Please avoid personal attacks. This comment was uncalled for, perhaps you need to take a break from the subject, if so, i'll respect that you're just taking time to cool off and not claim consensus just because you are not currently engaged in discussion. --ΖαππερΝαππερ BabelAlexandria 23:22, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's wasn't even a personal attack, I believe he was simply deriding your tendency to go in circles whilst arguing. Artichoker[talk] 00:04, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it isnt like he said "You are a terrible person because of how you argue." Saying "You are a terrible person to argue with" could be taken as a compliment. --Blake (talk) 01:17, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'll be watching that article. Mind that I'm of the opinion that User:Valkyrie Red's edits on Mario are not necessarily vandalism; as a result, you would also be at 3RR. Anyways, the user has now been given a formal warning and is advised that any further reversions will lead to a block for him. Regards, MuZemike 01:45, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

ANI[edit]

I've taken the above issue to ANI wrt the incivility/personal attacks made. I'm giving you a courtesy notice as I have mentioned you since I have made the above comment to you. Regards, MuZemike 02:35, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Jynx (Pokémon)[edit]

Updated DYK query On July 19, 2009, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Jynx (Pokémon), which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits your article got while on the front page (here's how) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

RE:Lara Croft tidbit[edit]

O.K. Understand that. GamerPro64 (talk) 14:56, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Kung Fu Man- I noticed your excellent work on Lara Croft. That article has been on my to do list for a while. I'm trying to take things slow for a while, but if you need some help in the near future, let me know as I'd like to see the article get to GA and maybe A-class. (Guyinblack25 talk 18:30, 23 July 2009 (UTC))[reply]
I'll see what I can dig up on reception. I believe I have some development sources too. It may be a while before I dive into the article though. (Guyinblack25 talk 15:44, 24 July 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Kung Fu Man- Just wanted to apologize for not getting to Lara Croft yet. With my lack of free time and other things like unexpected processes (FLC, GAR and merge discussion), this project just fell through the cracks. Starting next week, I should be back on Wikipedia in full and will start researching the character. I'll probably post on the talk page some comments/thoughts about any improvements that come to mind. (Guyinblack25 talk 17:04, 24 August 2009 (UTC))[reply]

OneChanwotsit[edit]

Hi KFM, noticed you'd proposed a merge of OneChanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers into the Xbox 360 game, could I ask why? There's no rationale given on either page. Having recently bought a Wii, I was pleased to see the afforementioned in a sale, so picked it up. I played it last night, and despite confusing signals from the Euro/NA publisher they are actually different games. Someoneanother 19:15, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely nothing to apologize for, least of all when the publishers' spokespeople talk about it in such a backwards way, they probably weren't given enough information. That said I'm going to have to sit down with the Wii game and figure out exactly how related they are and look for sources to match. The 360 game has one continuous story mode where two of three characters can be taken into a stage, though some stages only have one or two characters available (it ties into the story). The Wii game, on the other hand, has separate stories for each of the four characters, and Anna (the new character in the 360 game) isn't even in it, yet she and her brother are a key part of the overall plot in that game. If I remember correctly, even the save points are structured slightly differently. None of this ties in with a straight port. I'll see if I can fix them both up at some point. Someoneanother 21:21, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

re:Just a shout[edit]

Cool; it probably needs a good run-over anyways. I'm also thinking that after I get this book and salvage any info from it that can be added to the article, that it can be pushed for an FA. Artichoker[talk] 20:06, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Blastoise[edit]

Your continued use of words like majority demonstrate you do not understand what consensus is. Please ask an admin to assist you. --ΖαππερΝαππερ BabelAlexandria 19:36, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

you're response to take the matter to the video game project is not helpful. you are merely looking for people to agree with you about Blastoise, why didn't you take it to WT:CON? Rather, you should take the matter to a specific admin who understands the concepts of consensus. If you had reopened the merge "discussion" under a different framework like i had asked i wouldn't be fighting with you so hard. But you went ahead with your vote and continue to think that majority = consensus when it doesn't. User talk:Zappernapper#Taking it to a higher authority - the subject alone shows you don't get what a wiki project is for, something else i've told you about - projects have no authority. The pokemon project does not get to decide how all the pokemon articles are going to be, and the video game project does not exert some kind of beuracratic authority over all it's child projects. --ΖαππερΝαππερ BabelAlexandria 20:03, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
How do you put up with this? Can you please help me help you with the disscussion? I am trying to say the article looks good but doesn't has enough stuff to warrent its own article. GamerPro64 (talk) 21:06, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2nd opinion on Talk:Junya Nakano/GA1[edit]

I'm looking for a 2nd opinion with regards to whether or not the Junya Nakano article is broad enough in coverage, as the article is rather short and most of the sources are coming from one website. What do you think? MuZemike 21:12, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Remember when you tool the GAN tag off of Talk:OnLive? Well, Its nominated for GA again and after I wrote on the nominator's talk page to remove it, he's not. Can you tell User:Allengittelson to remove since you did it? GamerPro64 (talk) 22:45, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dear User:Kung Fu Man, I request that you reconsider and modify the Talk:OnLive/GA1 which you authored for the following reasons.

1) Citations 5, 16, 18, and 19, now follow WP standards, as per your suggestion. Thank you for this suggestion on something specific that was actionable to improve the article.

2) There is a lot of what WP refers to as "giving problems, not solutions" in your review. If you believe there are problems, can you please specify what can be done to improve the article as per WP:RGA? For example, in my judgement the article is quite good about following WP:NPOV, and your assertions to the contrary do not contain much specificity of suggestions for improvement. --wikial (talk) 00:46, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Doctor Wily[edit]

Do you think that it will be able to expand any more? It's fairly small, and it really doesn't look like much more can be added to it. The in-universe content is already covered within the list (the Lord Wily info can be added to the other list), so merging the reception wouldn't hurt anything. In reference to the current AfD, I could've sworn you linked to an archive or an old argument relating to the creation of these pages. Fullmetal Alchemist[edit]

I was curious I saw this. Do you read/watch Fullmetal Alchemist?Tintor2 (talk) 02:18, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mania Entertainment contains a lot of FMA manga and anime reviews. Check also other reviews seen in Roy Mustang and other characters to see if there is mention Armstrong.Tintor2 (talk) 02:31, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well with the minor addition it's now 1 word short of DotA when it passed FA (of course, DotA will still be expandable, Missingno. not so much). But I don't foresee many issues; it's around 1000 words, on the short side to be sure but still substantial enough I think, as long as sources are exhausted. --Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 01:52, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Stop reverting my edit! It's perfectly acceptable to mention his role in Super Smash Bros. in detail...Fox has three paragraphs on SSB; Pikachu can have three sentences. Edit war warning[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Pikachu. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Discuss the issue here, not through edit summaries. (I know you acknowledged you can't revert anymore, but this is just for formalities since I also warned the other user). MelicansMatkin (talk, contributions) 03:34, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Avatar[edit]

Would you mind withdrawing that at all? It really has no chance of really doing anything with Le Grand and the league of narrow minded inclusionists behind it. At best, the admin will just play the "AfD is not for editorial decisions" card, which just brings us back to square one. As long as there is a consensus from the merge discussion, that should be enough. And please, just respond here. I really hate split discussions.TTN (talk) 20:48, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hopefully as long as the rest of the "groupies" don't bother voicing their "opinions" and you get a closing admin that actually cares enough to make a definitive decision, it'll end well then. TTN (talk) 23:34, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

FR/LG[edit]

Hey, I mentioned this before but I'm thinking about taking Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen to FAC. The peer review for it just finished, and I'm feeling somewhat optimistic. However, the last time I tried taking an article to FAC, it went down in flames. :( Do you think FR/LG has a chance? I finished working on it a while back, and believe it is currently the best Pokémon article in terms of quality. Artichoker[talk] 00:24, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Height and character articles[edit]

The problem is the anon user adding it was comparing his height with other characters which original research. The height and weight would be more suitable in a character design subsection, but there is no such section.Tintor2 (talk) 16:15, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Links[edit]

Apologies for adding so many links in one go. I was aware some pages had link restrictions, but I assumed I'd be safe with classic NES and GB games, as many of them linked to my (old) URL as an external link or reference anyway. Did you need me to remove any? Fryguy64 (talk) 15:51, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for replying and taking care of those links. The server seems to be down, as all sites on the server are unavailable (this move isn't going as smoothly as I had hoped) but at least NinDB has a home now. Fryguy64 (talk) 17:11, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

When saw how little reception Vicent had, I started digging a bit and found that he has quite too much. I have been adding some things, and I wanted you to check if the merge tag can be removed. Deceptive comments in ANI[edit]

RE: Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#Ultima-series_character_articles_and_User:Dream_Focus I don't know how old or new you are, but let me give you some unsolicitied advice, if you are going to go to ANI against a user, you better damn well make sure that your evidence is factually correct.

I am going through your comments and I am rather appaled. I have gone through 2, and both are false and deceptive.

First you state that

"User:Dream Focus has been waging a one-man campaign against merging Avatar (Ultima), Lord British, and The Companions of the Avatar into the List of Ultima characters"

The reality is that several other editors opposed this merge. This statment is deceptive, making it sound like Dream is the only one with these concerns, whereas I count at least 6 other editors who had the same concerns, please strike this statment or I assure you it will dog you for the entire time you are on ANI.

Second, the misleading way you presented the edit diffs that you have deleted, when Dream correctly stated you deleted half the article. This is the actual edit[2] showing that you deleted half the article, not this,[3] please explain as such. Ikip (talk) 19:29, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry but firstoff, Bridies is right: my comment was regarding the fact that the primary one to constantly argue and claim article destruction was Dream Focus. While other editors were involves, those that stated to keep, including yourself, were one shot, drive by posts. So I do consider the issue to be with him. I would advise against "dogging" anyone for the ANI, as that's generally a great way to get one's butt in a sling.
As for the second part, the diff shows my first edit and his last, which I intended to serve as a point showing in the history "This is where I started, this is where he ended". There's no intent in misrepresenting anything there. You do have a point though that the latter is a better means to show disregard so I'll put both.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 19:44, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about starting it up with Rjanag on the FAC page. I just wanted to prevent him from tipping the scale, because the FA director(s), as I said there, often pay more attention to comments and arguments than support. RE:Soul series task force?[edit]

Yes, it sounds interesting. So, basically, if we discovered all the reception and other information for characters who would be notable, we could give them their own articles? We all just need to search the Internet for all this information, right? I'll try. It sounds like a good idea if we organize it all.

By the way, when are we going to start seriously working on the Sophitia article? People have gone and given her too much info in the games, and put unreferenced stuff in her Design section. And then the list....A task force sounds really good just about now. --Swiftink (talk) 23:24, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RE[edit]

Wrestlers and wrestling characters follow a different view in notability. Athlete supposedly suggest that if an athlete performs at the highest level in his sport, then he is notable. TNA is the second largest wrestling promotion today. They tour world-wide and have a national tv with TNA Impact! on Spike TV. This show is also featured in several other countries. So a character which was featured in the first video game of the promotion, turned into a real-life wrestling character with months of build to the debut, the character won a title in the promotion (I say character since two wrestlers played him during that reign), and one of the promotion's main accomplishments would suggest notability alone. Plus the added fact that this is the first and only video game wrestling character to be adapted from game to real-life. Add on the award TNA won, notability should be established. But in case not, PWTorch is a long standing newsletter with its own site. It is ran by news columnist Wade Keller, James Caldwell, etc. They have been involved in the wrestling world for years. WrestleView I don't know the full story. But Adam Martin, the main contributor it seems, has been interviewed by several radio shows and is considered a very knowledgeable individual when it comes to wrestling. I don't think I need to explain Slam Sports reliability. The Figure Four Wrestling/Wrestling Observer site is run by Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez, both of whom are acknowledged as experts in their field. Alvarez is co-author of The Death of WCW, published by ECW Press, and has been quoted in several other wrestling books (including Hardcore History: The Extremely Unauthorized Story of the ECW, published by Sports Publishing LLC, and The Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame: The Heels, published by ECW Press). Meltzer has also written books (Tributes: Remembering Some of the World's Greatest Wrestlers, published by Winding Stair Press, and Tributes II: Remembering More of the Worlds Greatest Wrestlers, published by Sports Publishing LLC, Top 100 Pro Wrestlers of All Time, published by Stewart House). He is quoted in many books and documentaries (Hitman Hart: Wrestling with Shadows and Beyond the Mat, as well as Mysteries of Wrestling, published by ECW Press; Ric Flair's autobiography, To Be the Man; Mick Foley's autobiography; and countless others). Alvarez has been running Figure Four since 1995, and he merged the magazine with Meltzer's Wrestling Observer, which has been around since 1987. If you need any more information to verify their reliability, just ask (or do a search for their names, which should turn up many hits). All sources mentioned have been used in several GAs, FLs, and FAs. Including the only current TNA PPV FA written by myself Lockdown (2008). Each has stories regarding the development on TNA Impact! the video game, the character if Suicide, sales of the game, reception on the game, Impact reports, PPV reports, interviews, etc. When I find time I was going to expand the Suicide article to hopefully FA if possible. Considering the amount of info that there is, it should be relatively easy.--WillC 22:28, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Okay good. For months I've been reading other GAs and FA character articles trying rto figure out how to improve this one. Suicide has really fell on the back burner until I find time and understanding of the topic first when it comes to video games. I'll probably get the TNA Impact done first.--WillC 22:37, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Seperate Zero article[edit]

I apologize for not telling you guys before I made the article, and I was to stupid to realize that you had just merged everything about Zero into the List of the X characters article. Still, I have spent a while making this article: Zero (megaman) (Its still not finished). I now know that I should have told you guys first, but I don't want all of this work to go to waste. Yeah :\. I'll give it one more hour and we'll see. Could you just give me a general description of the notability guidelines? Should I get more sources rather than the Mega Man Zero Official Works?- (Wikipedian1234 (talk) 20:23, 13 September 2009 (UTC))[reply]

I can't seem to find any top ten polls or anything with Zero in it...I'll keep looking. In the meantime, thanks for the help with the article. If it pulls through I'll consider giving you a barnstar or something. -(Wikipedian1234 (talk) 00:23, 14 September 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Don't know if this could help. In a Megaman X7 review Gaming Target called Zero "useless" when it comes to boss fights [4]. In a GameSpot's X4 review, Zero's playthrough was regarded to be more difficult than the one from Megaman X due to the different abilities both characters have.[5]. I'll keep searching.Tintor2 (talk) 01:29, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have never seen this website, but Pgxnet mentions that it is a pity and at the same time fair that Zero can't be used in boss battles from X3 due to how strong he is in comparison to X.[6]. 1UP.com praised X4 as the best game from Mega Man X Collection as how it gives Zero his own story and makes him a playable character [7]. A similar opinion was given by GameRevolution although they labelled Zero as a "Proto-Man with a ponytail" [8].Tintor2 (talk) 01:47, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The inclusion from Zero in the Mega Man X games was praised by Gamezone who noted that it made the games unique.[9].Tintor2 (talk) 01:54, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't the article be moved to "Zero (Mega Man)"?Tintor2 (talk) 13:42, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks so much for saving my article. You deserve some serious awards. How do you give people barnstars anyway? It's really amazing what you and other guys can do in as little as 24 hours...damn amazing work man I must say- (Wikipedian1234 (talk) 00:44, 15 September 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Dance, Voldo, Dance[edit]

The VG Barnstar
You just took Dance, Voldo, Dance from nothing to GAN in 4.5 hours. It doesn't matter if it passes or not, that is an amazing feat and worthy of praise. --PresN 03:45, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Just a nudge[edit]

Ah yes, that got buried under a whole load of other stuff both off and on WP for me: heck, I've still yet to finish the Half-Life series article. I created a basic sandbox, but didn't get much further. The ones I'm imagining could probably stand alone would be the ones for Freeman, G-Man and Alyx, and possibly Barney Calhoun. The rest are likely to run into sourcing issues for third-party real-world information. Let me know when you've got the basics up, I'll jump in and lend a hand, since I should have taken care of this quite a while ago. -- Sabre (talk) 19:37, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gamest awards[edit]

Thanks. I have never heard of the gamest awards. I think the ones in some KOF articles were added by users who moved to the snk wikia. Also I tried entering the site, but I don't understand anything.Tintor2 (talk) 02:14, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

re:Ash and Red[edit]

That sounds about right. I view Red simply as another reincarnation of Ash, so go ahead. Cheers, Artichoker[talk] 21:36, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see them as a reincarnation. Ash is simply based on Red in same way Liu Kang is based on Bruce Lee or Son Goku (Dragon Ball) on Sun Wukong. By the way, I don't think there is reception for Red considering the reviews from the games are commonly focused in gameplay and the pokemons. The VG Barnstar
Whelp, ya beat me to it! Congratulations on bringing the first Pokémon-related article to featured article status!! A comprehensive, well-written, and albeit somewhat short article: Missingno. I look forward to your continued work with the Pokémon WikiProject, and hopefully I can get one of those games to FA status someday... Gratz again! Congrats from me as well. And also, since you created it, DYK'd it, GA it, and its now a FA, I believe you're up for the Four Award. GamerPro64 (talk) 02:00, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why?[edit]

Why did you delete Blue (Pokemon) without even discussing it? I don't reall see the point of turning it into a disambiguation link? NarSakSasLee (talk) 15:36, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wario[edit]

I gotta disagree. For one, Wario is so rarely seen in 3D, particularly in his own series. In this generation, he's made seven appearances in his series, all of which represent him in 2D, and about he's appeared in about the same number of 3D Mario spin-offs. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! I don't agree with the idea that 3D images are preferred because they're used in most other Nintendo character articles. In my opinion, all those articles use 3D images because they're the most appropriate images to use (Mario, Peach, Luigi, Bowser, and other characters have had recent roles where their 3D incarnation is the most recognizable). I think Wario is far more cartoony than these characters and this image shows that; in fact, the image is so close to how he is seen in The Shake Dimension that I think it would be best for him. A lot of other articles also use 2D images in Nintendo characters, including Tingle, Link, all Pokémon, and Kirby, focusing on only characters that are both 2D and have a cartoony feel to the image used. I think that Wario is disconnected from Mario that the decision used in the Mario character articles should be the deciding factour for Wario's. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Tatanga[edit]

Just to say that I can see what you're trying to do which I understand just that we've agreed on the talk page on the article that Tatanga is to be included on the list. And even though was featured in Super Mario Land doesn't make it his own page. It's like saying the Donley Kong game is Donkey Kong's own page. And in Japanese sources, it says that it is Tatanga in SML2. Also that's to say that Wart should also be redirected to Super Mario Bros. as that's the only game he's been in excluding the remakes and yes but Doki doki doesn't count. Now I've taken away the bit about Wario being behind kidnapping Daisy since it's OR but if further you want to still challenge this, please discuss it first on the talk page. --VitasV (talk) 22:55, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

So, how do you think this is forming up so far? I think its coming together quite well; its certainly much better than previous. We've got a decent development section (although there's still some more sources I'm trying to track down on that), and the plot's more or less cleaned up. I just need to do a bit of polish, the odd trim and referencing and that should be fine, and put together something short and effective for the attributes section. And we've got some sources discussing reception, I've a few more to add to that when I get to reforging it into a full reception analysis. Considering only three days work, that's not bad going. Even in its current semi-finished state, it should be reasonably safe from further deletion attempts, and should be sustainable as a spin-off article. -- Sabre (talk) 14:49, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

LeChuck and Guybrush shouldn't be too much of a problem; out of the three, Elaine's the least significant of the all, so coverage shouldn't be too hard for the other two. Might take me a little while to get around to finishing Elaine's article off though, my Internet connection is inconsistent at best at the moment. -- Sabre (talk) 17:27, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Talk:Tetris[edit]

I realize that (I participated in said discussions), but in some cases, a game can be the top article. Mario and Pokémon aren't listed because Nintendo is the "parent article" (though I strongly disagree with Pokémon, since it's so far reaching and impacting that no top importance article gives it anywhere near adequate coverage), but Tetris can't be covered in any one parent article. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Dr. Wily[edit]

This is true, but both those characters have been consistently antagonists in their respective series. My logic is that Wily is pretty much gone for most of the series. Though, I didn't know that he had a role in the Battle Network series, which if I did I would probably have not touched its assessment. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! I agree that GAs should ideally be in the hardcover Wikipedia book, but I just think that GAs should be included by the virtue that it's of a high enough status to be worth it. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Speaking of which, if you have time, do you think you could aide me on work on my Birdo article? I've hit a wall kinda, and any help you can give would be great. re:Pokémon Red and Blue guide[edit]

Yes, the original Pokémon guide from Nintendo, which covers Red and Blue, as well as the re-released version that also covers Yellow both call the protagonist "Ash" in the introductory section of the guides. They also call the rival "Gary" throughout the guides. However, the description next to the protaginist's picture doesn't provide the "set in stone-ness" you're looking for. It reads as follows:

One of the default names for your character is Ash, but you may create any name you wish at the beginning of the game. Your main rival is your next door neighbor, Gary, but you can also give him any name you'd like.

It should also be noted that there are some naming mistakes in the introductory sections; they reference "Dr. Oak" and "Super Balls". These are the Japanese names of Professor Oak and Great Balls, respectively. So yes, they're called Ash and Gary in these guides, but I really question the reliability. Cheers. -sesuPRIME 05:13, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
