Blue Velvet[edit]

I won't revert the article again until there's been a discussion, but can you please contribute the genre discussion on Blue Velvet's talk page? In general, it's messy to list more than one genre in the header, and I also balk at calling it neo-noir as that genre seems to be slapped on any film on Wikipedia with the slightest noir influence. Specifically for Blue Velvet, I don't feel the genre has been established other than those are the two genres you personally feel the film belongs to. I feel uncomfortable slapping Blue Velvet with any genre label because it touches on so many different things. It's a film that changes genre from scene-to-scene. To me, the most accurate and objective thing to do would be to say "it's been viewed as some critics as being this genre, others as being that genre, it uses elements from noir and is considered by many critics to be part of the neo-noir movement, and also draws on experimental cinema, surrealism, horror, satire," etc in the article. I'd be okay with just calling it a mystery film because the AFI considers it that if we absolutely must name a genre in the very first sentence. But can we keep it to one? If we say "it's a neo-noir mystery," someone's going to come along wanting to add another genre and they'll be able to cite, then another, and another, and eventually you're going to have five or ten genres in the opening sentence as I've seen in many film articles. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.55.61.161 (talk) 08:30, 8 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

May 2015[edit]

Please stop edit warring on the The Searchers (film) article. Your contribution was a clear duplication of information already contained within the article and was re-inserted without any explanation and mention on the article Talk page. Your "edits" have now been reversed by two editors and if you continue, you may find yourself blocked from editing. Thank you, David J Johnson (talk) 17:14, 10 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

New Hollywood[edit]

You have twice restored unsourced information to New Hollywood which is contrary to WP:BURDEN, which clearly states "The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material, and is satisfied by providing a citation to a reliable source that directly supports the contribution ... Any material lacking a reliable source directly supporting it may be removed and should not be restored without an inline citation to a reliable source."

Your behavior on this article is disruptive and you are having a negative effect on the article, effectively damaging it by adding unsubstantiated claims. If you continue in this manner I will request administrator intervention. Betty Logan (talk) 14:49, 21 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

I would like to discuss about something here.

Disambiguation link notification for March 10[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of film director and composer collaborations, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Big Sky. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
