Article draft feedback[edit]

Great expansion work on this so far! You're using the sections well to make the material approachable visually, and your tone stays neutral and appropriate for encyclopedia work. The biggest notes I have as you continue researching, adding, and revising are:

  • I'm curious about the multiple "main article" connections--is this a sub-article of three different articles? Being a sub-article of multiple articles like this is fairly unusual, so it caught my attention.
  • With the current heading structure, it looks like all of these sections are under "history", although the sections for individual islands don't seem to have a historical focus. Adding another higher-level heading for the islands might be a good move for clarity.
  • Each time you make a statement of fact (such as "coin minting can be correlated to an increase in Indian Ocean trade"), you will want to link to your source(s) at the end of that sentence. (I see you mostly doing this throughout, but there are some statements that merit being connected to sources but are not currently)
  • I see "Language" and "Culture" as currently empty sections. These definitely seem worth fleshing out if you're finding good information in these areas.

I think those are my biggest notes based on this draft. This is a really solid set of draft additions. Let me know if you have any questions, and I look forward to seeing your final edits! Nicoleccc (talk) 00:08, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
