Who are you?[edit]

Edit summaries such as "rv unsourced GF edits", "L1 warning for section blanking", "multiple m. grammar fixes", "Gallery: fixed [which?] from picture desc", "restoring SineBot's autosig" and " linkifying ISIL and Al-Nusra" are not the work of a new editor, so perhaps you can dispense with the pretense and come clean about who you are, what your previous account was, and why you're editing with a new account. The alternative is for I and other editors to keep nibbling away at the evidence you present until we uncover the truth, and then you are blocked from editing. If there's a legitimate reason why you're editing with a new account, this is the time to come clean and reveal it. Otherwise, what you're facing is constant surveillance and extremely close inspection of all your edits for their legitimacy. Beyond My Ken (talk) 10:10, 23 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Threatening behaviour like this totally undermines the Wikipedia:Clean start policy. Blackberry Sorbet (talkcontribs) 11:13, 23 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
This refers to Beyond My Ken's message above, Kdtully - not you. Blackberry Sorbet (talkcontribs) 13:25, 23 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
WP:CLEANSTART is a much abused process, Mr. Sorbet. If Kdtully is indeed a bona fide clean start, he is extremely strongly advised not to edit in the subject areas he has edited in before. Is that the case, Kdtully, are you inserting yourself into an area you edited with your previous account, and are you avoiding the subject areas you edited in before the clean start

Secondly, Clean Start is not intended to be a process by which editors can put previous sanctions behind them. Is that the case, Kdtully, that your previous account ha not subject to outstanding blocks or bans connected to it?

Finally, to Blackberry Sorbet: you've had an account for two years, and have about 1,500 edits. In short, you've got very little experience here, so your interjection is both inappropriate and undesirable. I suggest you back off until you have a bit more understanding about how this site works. Beyond My Ken (talk) 13:54, 23 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I originally tried to address that in my reply, but the reply was going overlong into a wall-of-text, and I deleted it for brevity. (also because it sounded. bit defensive to my ear). What I originally meant to say, was:
  • I've reused some of the same subject areas- only where I've been able to make uncontroversial copyedits.
  • Never, ever edited the same article with different accounts.
  • Never returned to the same topic once I've found myself in conflict with other users in one- with he same or different accounts.
  • Never been sanctioned (blocked or banned or other restriction) or been warned of sanction.
  • Never actually found myself in conflict with/aroused suspicions of an admin before now.
  • When I realize that I'm carrying a STICK, I put it down and walk away, almost always.
  • The things I've sought to avoid with poorly-executed freshstart were an accumulation of personal drama-my own. The first account I abandoned shared a username with other accounts I use IRL and elsewhere. Since trying to become a "real editor", I've come to the conclusion that I'm not an effective as an editor twice, and simply left. I returned when I thought I'd figured out what went wrong previously.
  • I don't think I've acted against policy before, I didn't intend to, and don't intend to now, I regret very much, if I have. (The sole exception being the Tea House, where I didn't originally understand the formal rules).
  • I try to give advice/assist others/mediate conflicts where it's not needed, or otherwise outside my region of expertise. It's difficult to avoid doing that, but I understand that's counter productive toward encyclopedia-building. Perhaps all my edits on the wiki fall into the category of "non-helpful". That would be frustrating and disapppointing, indeed. Again, sorry for having consumed your time in this fashion.--Kdtully (talk) 18:37, 23 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Don't call me "Mr. Sorbet" - that is both patronising and insulting, although that was probably your intention. If Kdtully is a clean start you have no grounds WHAT-SO-FUCKING-EVER to harass them into revealing their previous account details. You have no reason to start interrogating them or asking where they have previously edited. If you have reasonable evidence to believe that the editor is using multiple accounts in a way that is contrary to policy, then initiate an SPI. If not, leave them alone. As for how long I may have been here or how many edits I may have, that doesn't alter a fig. You are out of line, pal. Blackberry Sorbet (talkcontribs) 14:21, 23 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'll restrain the urge to call you "Mister Sorbet", then. Thank you for coming to my defense, but please don't be uncivil to BeyondMyKen, on my account. I assume that the "interrogation" was over concern that I'm evading a ban or block, and a previously problematic user pretending to be something innocuous. BMK's concern might be warranted. I'm not really sure. I don't know how to resolve his concerns without publicly revealing my previous accounts on-wiki. I don't know of any good alternatives either. I'm open to suggestion though. I can see that I apparently am a problematic user, because I'm always drawn to drama. This is the greatest escalation I've had yet, by far. Sorry for the inconvenience. Beyond My Ken has no business what-so-ever pestering you and threatening you into providing him info about yourself. You are perfectly within your rights to: 1) tell him to mind his own business, 2) and stay off your talk page, and 3) then ignore him. If he follows you to any pages, or bothers you in any way, then follow the WP:DR process and/or let an admin know. Don't let him bait you into any bad decisions, possibly resulting in more sanctions and ruining your clean start. Make the best of this! Good luck. - theWOLFchild 00:37, 25 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

notice[edit]

This is now being discussed at ANI. It's probably best to stop here, and continue there. And, it's certainly in Kdtully's best interests to not answer anymore of BMKen's "questions", on either of your talk pages. - theWOLFchild 00:43, 25 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
