11:39, 5 October Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Byakuren Kaikan[edit]

Hello and thank you for your welcome. I'm a new user and not that used to the world of Wikipedia. My first effort to contribute to the encyclopedia is the article on the Byakuren Kaikan, which now risks to be deleted for reasons I can't say I really agree with. Anyway, I added as much references and sources I can, although most of them are in Japanese. As for today I added more articles I could find on some magazines, please check the discussion page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Byakuren_Kaikan

Also, I would like to know if there is anything else I could do to prevent this page from being deleted as it costed me time and effort to create it and I'd like it to be a reference for anyone looking for information on this style on the web in English.

Byakuren Kaikan[edit]

Hope my comment on the AfD debate was clear. I think your article has a place but those sources have to get incorporated into the article rather then piled into the debate. What the article needs are sources other then the organisation talking about its-self. News articles, etc, are much better and I think there are some of those. I am sorry but as I said I'm new (moreover I'm not a native Eng speaker) and there are many things I'm still a bit confused. First of all how to communicate between us...

The reason I was "piling up" sources was that I was a bit shocked the article risks deletion while there are hundreds of pages that simply have a banner warning about the sources not being enough or not clear. Why this one was to deleted? It seemed a bit extreme to me, especially because the style is well know on the scene (at least in Japan).

Also, I'm sorry but I don't understand what you mean by "Draft & userfy" and "Draft and the Article"...

If I am to integrate the sources to the article I would like to know better how. The point is that although I could find references in some magazines still most of the information (especially the history and training parts) are based on the book written by Sugihara himself...

Sorry again if I'm creating trouble, I was enthusiast about this project since the number of information available in English is not much but it seems I've messed up a little.

First of all you did not create trouble and are not the first person to be confused by the requirements. What I suggested is that your article be moved to Draft space where it can be worked on and then with better sources in place moved back to article space. This is quite common now and in fact most articles start out as Draft where advice is offered before becoming articles. I assume you are Japanese - you can use Japanese sources no problem and there is nothing wrong in using Sugihara's book. It is important to have at least a couple of references where the style is talked about by someone not related to the art. If it is common in Japan then there should be some news source that talks about the art. In any case let the AfD finish - you don't have to add anything more. I strongly suspect your article won't get deleted and even if it does I will make sure you have a copy to work on. Wikipedia has become tougher and sometimes the move to deletion is a bit quick. Please remember that lots of martial arts styles get suggested and most of them are practiced in only one place by a delusional character - sometimes legitimate. notable styles get caught in the process.Peter Rehse (talk) 14:04, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

OK I will try to improve the page incorporating more sources.
