Welcome[edit]

Hello, Justincone, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. To start creating a draft article, just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit that page as you would any other. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

The one firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. It is also worth noting that Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which specifically link them to one company or corporation. If your username does have such a name, it would be advisable for you to request a change of username.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! You can also just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Filing Flunky (talk) 17:38, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I need help understanding this. If I had created a fictitious account and authored the Psyop page with it, there would have been no conflict of interest? Is that correct? Justincone (talk) 19:48, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I would suggest reading this section first and see if that might answer your question. The account name has no real bearing on whether a conflict-of-interest exists, although it can be a clue. We look more at the edit patterns and what's being added to articles, instead. --McDoobAU93 19:49, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

While I understand and appreciate the conflict of interest section you referenced, I insist that I'm only trying to add Psyop alongside other production companies in Wikipedia. The article is objective, thanks to some help from Wikipedia editors. Can we please remove the COI flag? Justincone (talk) 19:54, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is that this appears, intentionally or otherwise, to be done to promote your company. If you look at the World of Coca-Cola article, you'll see that no other production companies are mentioned in the prose of the article, and surely there were others besides Psyop. All that said, I'd see no problem adding the link you mentioned below to the Psyop article, since it is indeed from an independent party in the industry, but it would appear out of place mentioning Psyop in the World of Coca-Cola article. --McDoobAU93 20:00, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That's fair. I didn't think of it from that perspective. Thank you for the clarification.

You're welcome. You're of course also welcome to edit Wikipedia from this account, but please be very careful when working on articles where the appearance of a COI might occur. I think you have a lot of potential to help improve the project as a whole, and hope you decide to stick around. --McDoobAU93 20:09, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

January 2012[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article World of Coca-Cola, please cite a reliable source for your addition. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. If you have a reliable source indicating this is so, please provide it before attempting to add this back. --McDoobAU93 18:16, 10 January 2012 (UTC) McDoobAU93 18:16, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Here is a source for the Happiness Factory mockumentary in the World of Coke post: http://creativity-online.com/work/cocacola-new-world-of-coke/4421. You'll notice Psyop is credited as the Production Company for the job, meaning they created the project.

Can I add the citation back in the World of Coke post with that link?

On the surface, I would say yes. However, there are issues regarding a potential conflict of interest you may have in wanting to insert such information into the article. I believe those should be addressed first. --McDoobAU93 19:40, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Psyop.jpeg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Psyop.jpeg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

Hello[edit]

Hi I saw you edits to World of Coca-Cola.184.44.131.140 (talk) 19:56, 10 January 2012 (UTC) Yes, I added a credit for the creation of the World of Coke mockumentary, which I thought would be interesting information. Justincone (talk)[reply]

Really, Tailsman67, really? --McDoobAU93 20:01, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

For what it's worth, the edit has been reverted. :-) Justincone (talk) 20:04, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Psyop (company) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article has lacked any sources verifying facts or basic notability since December 2011.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Steven Walling • talk 18:52, 26 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. —Unforgettableid (talk) 03:29, 1 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
