"Edited vandalism"[edit]

I believe you meant to say "fixed vandalism" rather than "edited vandalism". Otherwise, a good job on all the edits I saw. I noticed you because you reverted the same IP's vandalism as I just did. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 19:28, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, you seem to be editing U.S. Jesuit university infoboxes en masse, without using the very minimum of an edit summary. If you feel there needs to be greater standardization, please start a discussion on the topic at a central place like the infobox talk page. Thanks!-- Patrick, oѺ 14:42, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Joseroyal, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Ignatius of Loyola has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 23:40, 25 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Reference errors on 21 May[edit]

Hello, I'm ReferenceBot. I have automatically detected that an edit performed by you may have introduced errors in referencing. It is as follows:

Section headings should always be in sentence case, like this one[edit]

Mabuhay! I ask you to kindly look at MOS:SECTIONCAPS, which provides that section headings should be written in "sentence case," only capitalizing the first letter and any proper nouns. In Ateneo Blue Eagles, nearly all of the section headings are out of compliance with this important provision of Wikipedia's style manual; for example, "Mascot and Colors" and "Notable Coaches" should be "Mascot and colors" and "Notable coaches". Thank you for your attention to this. Take care - Julietdeltalima (talk) 18:36, 5 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

November 2018[edit]

Hello Joseroyal, I noticed that you removed linking of names without articles in the National Defense College of the Philippines 'Notable alumni' section. Those red-links are helpful as a reminder of articles that still need to be written and they become blue-links when those articles appear. I've reverted your edit for that reason. It is a problem that none of those names have supporting references to establish either that they notable (for the positions the descriptions say they hold) or that they are in fact alumni. So I'd have no objection to removing them from the list. Gab4gab (talk) 16:32, 20 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Summary[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! - wolf 04:36, 9 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Ateneo Senior Men's Varsity Teams, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. What's your reasoning for preferring the monstrosity that's "Playoffs/Finals" over the pithier "Bracket"?[edit]

Sports tournament articles in Wikipedia use the much superior term "Bracket" than "Playoffs/Finals" you insist to use over and over. You got to have a wonderful reason to keep on using that... it's not even a word. Howard the Duck (talk) 16:17, 2 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Recent edit issue[edit]

This edit here, triggered a report at copy patrol, noting a close comparison between your edit and this source. However, that source claims to be copied from Wikipedia without identifying the name of the article. I note that your edit was not sourced. Is it possible it was copied from somewhere else in Wikipedia?S Philbrick(Talk) 15:18, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Joseroyal. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Ateneo Senior Men's Varsity Teams".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! Lapablo (talk) 12:08, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In addition to the two warnings above, [1] was copied from https://www.ustangelicum.edu.ph/About/History. Your edits will be investigated at Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/20201107. You are also blocked for being uncommunicative with zero user talk edits. This account is also rather similar to Matthew Josef and Bluejosef. MER-C 18:26, 7 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
