Source about Hollowayville, Illinois

Hello Mr. Lambert, in 2017 on the page Hollowayville, Illinois, you linked to a source listed as "Photographic Tour of Hollowayville" in the history section, however the link leads to a website about Bureau Junction. Was this the intended source or was there a different one that you meant to source there? I'm just wondering because I'd like to find sources about Hollowayville's history. Thanks! Sean30303 (talk) 03:28, 3 March 2024 (UTC)

That was 7 years ago. I do not remember. I may have misunderstood the source when I kinked yo it. I may have done something wrong with the link. I have no memory of the source after so many years.John Pack Lambert (talk) 04:08, 3 March 2024 (UTC)

Wrongly placed 20th-century people

In the last week I have deleted 2 articles from 20th-century categories on people who died well before 1900. I am not at all sure how articles get placed so incorrectly in articles. I would question almost all placements of people who died in 1905 and earlier in 20th-century categories, but if they died in 1899 and sooner there is no question at all.John Pack Lambert (talk) 13:54, 11 March 2024 (UTC)

Flautists by nationality

23 of the 52 by nationality sub-cats of this category have 4 or fewer articles. 5 of those cases involve having said articles in more than 1 category. This all seems to be cases of too narrow categories.John Pack Lambert (talk) 15:17, 11 March 2024 (UTC)

Overly small categories of chemists

There are about a dozen or more sub-categories of chemists by nationality that only have 3 or fewer articles. In a few of these cases there 3 or fewer articles are in more than one total category. This is a case of excessively splitting of a category. It would work much better if we upmerged all categories with under 6 articles to the respective Fooian scientists category and the Chemists category.John Pack Lambert (talk) 19:38, 21 March 2024 (UTC)

John Whipple Potter Jenks

When I found John Whipple Potter Jenks the article was in the living people category. Per the article he died in 1894. This is one of the worst miscategorizings of an article I have seen.John Pack Lambert (talk) 12:57, 22 March 2024 (UTC)

We need to end all 1 article categories

We have probably 10s f thousands of categories with 1 article. This makes no sense at all. 1 article categories are never necessary. There is always a better way to categorize at a higher level. I say this as possibly the leading creator of 1 article categories. They serve no useful function. We do not need to categorize by every detail or as precisely as possible in all cases. Categories only help navigation when they have multiple articles. I am thinking this should in general be over 10, 5-10 are OK if part of larger schemes, but it We have a series of categories where none, or at most 2 have over 10 articles We should really question if we need any of them. Not ever occupation needs to be divided by nationality. Not every sport should have players divided by US state, there is no reason why American college football coaches cannot have direct articles. I also in the last case think we should have divided by state first, and only by college where we have 10 plus articles.John Pack Lambert (talk) 04:02, 25 March 2024 (UTC)

Hi Mr. Lambert,
It looks like you have been editing my Wikipedia page. It's very disconcerting to see that I've been labeled (not sure by whom) as a "run-of-the-mill businesswoman." I've had a very meaningful career, with the opportunity to help a lot people succeed in their own careers, I've been volunteering for years in mental health and homelessness. Admittedly, I don't understand the back-end of Wikipedia, so I hired a professional years ago to set it up. As far as I know, it has only been lately considered for deletion. I'm an author, so listing books is a big piece of my background, not a promotion or advertising. I would appreciate any help or advice you can offer. Thank you!
Sincerely,

Watchmakers by nationality
