The article MFT (unit) has been proposed for deletion. The proposed-deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you.  Magister Scientatalk (8 November 2011) 23:49, 8 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have moved it to User:Jcmcclurg/sandbox. I think the best treatment is: if you can establish that more people than Honeywell use this term, simply add a note about it to the foot (unit) article. (I assume the M stands for thousand as in Roman numerals.) — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:44, 9 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What did you think about the deletion notice you received?[edit]

Hi Jcmcclurg, You recently received a message about either "Nomination for deletion" or "Proposed deletion" of an article you created. I'd like to ask you a few quick questions:

  1. Was the message helpful? Were the instructions clear and easy to follow?
  2. If not, how do you think the message could be improved?
  3. What do you think about the deletion process in general? Do you understand how to contest a deletion?

You can feel free to answer on my talk page or send me your response by email (mpinchuk@wikimedia.org). (I won't quote you or link your answers to your username if you don't feel comfortable with that.) Your feedback is incredibly useful for improving the content of deletion notifications, so please take a minute to think about and answer these questions. Thank you! Thanks for the lightning-quick response! :)
Also, just a small tip, because I don't want you getting scolded by somebody for this: when posting to talk pages, be sure to sign your posts by typing four tildes at the end of the message, like this ~~~~. When you hit save, those get converted to the fancy signature you will see here (apologies if you just forgot!) --> Maryana (WMF) (talk) 01:17, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you![edit]

Thanks for your feedback on deletion notices, and for helping us better understand the deletion process from the point of view of new Wikipedians! Maryana (WMF) (talk) 23:43, 24 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of automated file description generation[edit]

Your upload of File:BoyAndPantherCub1.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks!
