COI[edit]

My question, coming a dozen years after Paul Barlow's, has to do with whether you're top-loading articles with references to books you've written. In at least one instance, you've added a link to an interview of Jason Rosenfeld in the Brooklyn Rail [1]. This is not to question your expertise, which appears to be considerable, but it is an issue if you've edited here with the intention of self-citing, and have never divulged a conflict of interest. Is this how to respond to your perfectly reasonable question? All the edits I have recently made are relevant. I am updating outdated pages and correcting inaccuracies. I have cited my own and other publications in the process. I do not believe I am top-loading articles. Many of these entries have not been updated since the late Dr. Barlow edited them years ago. Thanks for your response. If you are adding links to your own publications, or those of your associates, then conflict of interest may be relevant. Similarly, if you're adding links in Wikipedia articles to interviews about yourself or your associates, then that can constitute a similarly sticky direction. Conflict of interest doesn't automatically invalidate the substance or content of such edits, but it's wise to be transparent.
