Factiva searches (quite urgent)

Greetings, Jacklee, and I hope your life is going well! Sorry to trouble you again, but could you do the following two searches as soon as possible?

  • "Ya Kun Kaya Toast" (the article has been nominated for deletion)
  • "Fandi Ahmad", only articles from November 2007 onwards (need them to complete my rewrite of Fandi Ahmad, which is almost done).

I am pleased to inform you that I may have found another friend who can help me do Factiva searches, but nothing is confirmed yet, so for now, please do this favour, not for me, but for Wikipedia.

I have just returned from an overseas trip and a busy semester. Let me see what I can do. — Cheers, JackLee talk 16:22, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
Merry Christmas, Jacklee! Hopefully you have enough spare time during this festive season, to conduct the above two searches. Without your searches and input at the Ya Kun AFD, the Ya Kun article may be in danger of deletion. By the way, where/what is the option to have batches of articles sent in HTML format, instead of PDF format (need to tell my friend who is learning to use Factiva)? --J.L.W.S. The Special One (talk) 05:08, 25 December 2011 (UTC)
I have sent the articles to you by e-mail. To save the articles in HTML format, your friend should click the "Save" icon (a picture of a diskette) and select "Article format". The articles will appear in a new browser window. Your friend should then click "File" and "Save Page As", and choose HTML. By the way, Factiva now imposes a requirement of entering a CAPTCHA code to download batches of articles, so this slows down the whole process. Merry Christmas! — Cheers, JackLee talk 11:35, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
Thanks! Passed that information to my friend, who sent me several hundred articles about MINDS (Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore). I am going through them and you would probably see the rewritten article in a couple of weeks. By the way, are HTML-format articles sorted by date by default, and if not, where is the setting to sort them by date? --J.L.W.S. The Special One (talk) 08:32, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
I think they are arranged in reverse chronological order (more recent articles at the beginning). I'm not aware of any way of getting Factiva to sort the results. — Cheers, JackLee talk 18:23, 8 January 2012 (UTC)

A bowl of strawberries for you!

Thank you ever so much for those pictures, they are lovely! They also have enough detail of the stitched boards for the Belitung article as well!

You're most welcome. All the best for 2012! — Cheers, JackLee talk 18:24, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
