Edit Summary Request

I have noted that you edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky or even vandalizing. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). You might want to look at the edits done on this article[2]. You will see how we are creating footnotes. Early on, I often hit "edit this page" to look at how it was done and then didn't save, then copied things others did to the page I wanted to edit. Kukini 05:08, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Charles Collingwood murrow's boys.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Charles Collingwood murrow's boys.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

BTW, my userboxen are safely "nestled" in my sandbox. I'm trying to figure out how to get them to line up the way I want. So, your critique: I love the B&W photo in the ghost towns userbox. Very crisp and clear even on my crappy monitor, and conveys very well what "ghost town" is all about. The gray color is a nice touch too. With the other one, with the color photo, it is harder to make out what the photo is unless you click on it. I definitely prefer the B&W one. The Steve Irwin one is hilarious, but be careful flaunting it around Oregon, apparently his wife is from Eugene. ;) I'm not overfond of large, text-filled infoboxes but for sure fix all the redlinks in the green field--the blue and green look nice together, but the red and green definitely clash! There ya go, my two bits. I'll join your ghost towns project as soon as it goes live, especially for the snazzy B&W user box. Happy trails! Katr67 13:12, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I started a stub article (I want to have an article on every community in List of Registered Historic Places in Oregon before I even think about adding more buildings) if you have any input. Did a disamb for Magnolia Manor

Hey A! Great work on the articles, first off. Please continue your fine efforts.  :)
I happened to check Magnolia Manor, 'cause I had a feeling. There are, indeed, similarly named places in two other states. I moved your page to Magnolia Manor (Cairo, Illinois), made a disambig page out of the original, and direct linked the Illinois articles that mentioned the manor. Just make sure to check the 'What links here' before creating articles, por favor.
Believe me, I did more than my share of this. I'm realizing how many of the Registered Historic Places in Florida I'm going to have to go back and disambiguate. But that's part of how this project started in the first place.
Keep on keeping on. I've been going the quantity route, madly making stubs. You, however, are aiming for quality. And that's a good thing. :) -Ebyabe 13:07, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
