May 2023[edit]

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to add defamatory content to Wikipedia, as you did at Talk:Sonoma County, California, you may be blocked from editing. Magnolia677 (talk) 14:56, 31 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly I will note that you are referring to a section I added on the *talk page* - not the article. Secondly, the section I added on the talk page was not defamatory. You are misusing that word. If it's true, it isn't defamation. Do you want the sources to support what I said? It was the talk page. If you have valid criticism for certain phrases of my draft, with reference to sources that meet wikipedia's standards, the wording can be changed.
Are you a mod or admin?
You should not be removing my sections from the talk pages, per wikipedia rules.
Your threat is premature and unwarranted. Please keep this respectful, and don't make false accusations against me, without even asking for sources. You should have responded in a respectful manner, and asked for sources, given me a chance to provide you with the sources, and then offered valid criticism. Deleting my section on the talk page was against wikipedia rules, if I remember correctly.
The following are quotes from your links:
"Blocks are used to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, not to punish users (see § Purpose and goals)." -- I was not, and am not, being disruptive, or damaging.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Blocking_policy#Blocks_should_not_be_punitive: "Blocks should not be used: to retaliate; to disparage; to punish; or if there is no current conduct issue of concern." -- Yet you are threatening to block me in order to disparage, and your accusation regarding "defamat[ion]" is false and invalid, and you did not give me a chance to cite any sources for you. My page is not the appropriate place for you ask politely for sources -- the talk page of the particular article is.
"when in doubt, do not block"
An overview of when blocks are justifies shows, clearly, that a block would NOT be justified under ANY of the justifications listed.
"Administrators must not block users with whom they are engaged in a content dispute" -- Were you the one who deleted my section on the talk page? If so, this would bar you from blocking me. So why threaten me?
You are being over-the-top in order to disparage the content I intend to add to the article. What I intend to add is allowed, and I intend to add it. But since you have threatened me with a block, I will wait for you to respond. I intend to give you time to respond, then I intend to revert your deletion of my section on the talk page, then I intend to continue with my work as stated. I also intend to listen to any valid criticism you may provide, with an open mind, which may lead to taking suggestions, and changing some of the wording, or possibly not adding certain content to the pages, as I intended. I also intend to consolidate sources to support my statements before I either revert your deletion, or rewrite the section you deleted, with an effort to make it clear that my edits are simple facts.
Please respond within 5 days.
If you discuss me, my edits, or anything about me or or my edits, I would like to know where, in what venue, and be given a chance to be included, and be provided copies of the correspondence.

In the future, please, do not delete my sections on talk pages. Be polite. Bring up your concerns on the talk page. And please - try to refrain from making false accusations against me personally. For example, accusing me of "defamation", "personal rants", "disruptive" -- those accusations are completely false (in some cases *obviously* so), incendiary, and disparaging. Please be courteous and assume good faith.
