Thanks for the update IdiotSavant. I am a new wikipedia user and hoping to add in on subjects regarding Samoa. I guess i have to try and get this content in line with the guidelines then. It would be a challenge and should take some time but if i might add it's sad to see so much of the info on Samoa are outdated as well as its so called reliable sources. Regards --Billy685 (talk) 04:47, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. I've done some work on MPs, but I've been focusing on the Cook Islands and Tonga recently in preparation for their elections later this year. Samoa's are due in 2011, and it would be good to have a basic stub bio of all current MPs, plus better information on parties and electorates by then. --IdiotSavant (talk) 05:22, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New Zealand Labour Party[edit]

I quick failed the GA listing for New Zealand Labour Party because the article was almost entirely unsourced. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 01:17, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the quick response. So, I need to make sure that things are seriously referenced - difficult with pre-web topics such as political parties, but there are always books... IdiotSavant (talk) 01:26, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I saw that you nominated this article for a GA review. Although I don't have time to do full reviews these days, I left a few suggestions on the article's talk page. GaryColemanFan (talk) 19:38, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. Could you include Latvia (signed in 2008. Besides, I'll pay attention that the link to list of member states on the image's page isn't working) as signatory to the image CRPD-members.PNG? 89.191.112.246 (talk) 23:28, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I supported the proposed deletion of the article, but just to let you know in the future if you want to delete an article that you created and if nobody else has made a significant contribution to it, you can ask for it to be speedily deleted with a {{db-author}} tag. That would probably have deleted the article in a matter of hours rather than a week. Just an FYI, thanks! -- Atama 21:47, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

So how do I do the deletion? --IdiotSavant (talk) 23:51, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You simply type "{{db-author}}" on the article page Lanma726 (talk) 00:57, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (File:IndependentNationalPartyLogo.jpg)[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:IndependentNationalPartyLogo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. The article Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . A barnstar for you![edit]

The Barnstar of Liberty
Hi, thanks for all your excellent work on on the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, you more than deserve a barnstar for it! I recently picked up the article on the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights & saw you have already done most of the hard work expanding it except for on the articles themselves, and I am hoping that with some work it match the ICESCR article - i am making a start but your excellent prose style and explanation would go a long way to helping that; and it would be great if you did decide to pick up where you left off! You are now a Reviewer[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 04:59, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Politics task force[edit]

Hi there, thanks for continuing to add political parties. That's great to see. When you put the WPNZ banner on the talk page, please remember to also include the politics parameters: |politics=yes|politics-importance=low I've just added these to the New Munster Party.

We did a bot run back in July (I think). Every article that has been created since that falls within the scope of the politics task force needs to be tagged manually. If you've got any queries, please put a talkback message onto my talk page. {{tb}} Schwede66 18:29, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Both is still true - thanks for writing new articles, and please include the politics parameters when placing the WPNZ template (e.g. Talk:OurNZ Party). Cheers, Schwede66 23:33, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well exactly, the licenses specify that they should give attribution, and also re-license the new material under the same/similar license. Mostly I was concerned that someone would think this was a copyvio, so I left notes on the talk pages for future reference. • As I see, now the ICESCR article uses another file, so changing ICESCR.png is probably not necessary (if it won't be updated, possibly it would be reasonable to delete it?), but File:ICESCR-OP-members.png still is used and needs updating.Fuseau (talk) 14:45, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Pirate Party of Argentina, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Not an officially recognised political party, not even a registerd NGO. Just a mailing list, and facebook/twitter accounts. Not a member of nor observer of Pirate Parties International. Vanity page

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Cinabrium (talk) 19:05, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

1Law4All Party[edit]

Just curious about your justification for calling 1Law4All colour-blind. I realise they call themselves that, but abolishing the Waitangi Tribunal seems to be removing property-rights from an ethnic group, thus not very colour-blind at all. Haminoon (talk) 09:31, 9 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

In order to avoid problems with NPOV, I decided to use their own words (and wikilink to the ideology behind it) rather than just call them racists. The article Toanui Isamaela has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. The article Tai Tura has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. -- Patchy1 REF THIS BLP 08:03, 11 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on List of political parties in Southern Asia by country requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 20:13, 23 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party[edit]

Hi mate, I see you've moved the article to Cannabis Party (New Zealand). However, based on this [1] they have only changed their abbreviation from "ACLP" to "The Cannabis Party", this is backed up by their entry on the register of political parties [2] where they are still called the Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party but their "Abbreviation" is The Cannabis Party. Can you review and move the article back please. Mattlore (talk) 01:54, 29 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

New Challenge for Oceania and Australia[edit]

Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Oceania/The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Australia/The 5000 Challenge are up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. The Australia challenge would feed into the wider region one and potentially New Zealand could have a smaller challenge too. The main goal is content improvement, tackling stale old stubs and important content and improving sourcing/making more consistent but new articles are also welcome if sourced. I understand that this is a big goal for regular editors, especially being summertime where you are, but if you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Oceania and Australia like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1700 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for the region but fuelled by a series of contests to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. The Africa contest scaled worldwide would naturally provide great benefits to Oceania countries, particularly Australia and attract new editors. I would like some support from existing editors here to get the Challenges off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile and potentially bring about hundreds of improvements in a few weeks through a contest! Cheers.♦ --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:12, 24 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article New World Order Party has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not appear to be a notable political party. Nearly all references are to primary sources and very little secondary source coverage can be found online.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
