A tag has been placed on File:Fairly OddBaby.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Billboard member?[edit]

Are you a subscriber of Billboard, or do you know another user who is? If so, this would be of great help to me, as there are several charts on the Billboard.biz website that I am unable to access (such as Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles), and there are several positions on these pages I could otherwise incorporate into the pages I edit. If you know anyone who is a subscriber, please tell me, but it doesn't matter if you don't. Thanks. I Am RufusConversation is a beautiful thing. 17:27, 18 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your response. However, if you're not a member, where are you getting all of the chart positions you cite in your references from (such as in Kanye West discography and Drake discography)? I Am RufusConversation is a beautiful thing. 17:02, 21 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Swapped refs on Young Jeezy discography?[edit]

Hi, Holiday. I hope you enjoy your holidays.

I noticed your recent edit here (among your many other, much-appreciated efforts), and it appears that when moving the Bubbling Under refs for "F.A.M.E." and "I Do", you inverted the refs for those two songs down in Ref 7. I don't have access so can't verify them either way, but could you please take another look and check that they are assigned correctly? Having seen your edits to Drake discography, I thought I would point out something: just because "Marvins Room" was released to radio as well as digital retailers, it doesn't mean it automatically becomes a official single over a promotional one. Lots of sources say that "Headlines" is the first official single, anyway. I thought I should probably mention this to you before I make any changes, in case you have some other justification.
Oh, and a word of warning: although it IS a reliable source, Allaccess only lists upcoming releases, and some of the ones listed there get pushed pack or cancelled - see "Va Va Voom" as an example. Also, as has been discussed at great length (although you do have to sift through this a bit to find the worthwhile points, as the debate is quite lengthy), some songs sent for radio aren't even singles at all - it just means they receive airplay, and could be classified as radio/promotional singles.
If you want to discuss anything else, please tell me, as I don't think I've explained this very well. I Am RufusConversation is a beautiful thing. 14:25, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well done for your work on Lil Wayne discography – it's one I wanted to fix for a long time, but the sheer size put me off from doing so. Having read through it, I should point out that the authenticity of several of the mixtapes listed is very questionable – independent labels often sell illegal bootlegs that achieve enough sales to chart. Having done some research, I can't find any proof that Happy Father's Day and We the Best are official on any level, for example (the contents mostly consist of previous hits cobbled together). As unofficial albums shouldn't be listed per WP:DISCOGSTYLE, it might make sense to review many of the mixtapes listed (except ones such as the SQ mixtapes and the Dedication and Da Drought series, which would be pointless to check as they are obviously real). Also, several of the listed album sales should be removed as they are cited by forums, which should not be used. That's all! I Am RufusConversation is a beautiful thing. 17:10, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It says that you uploaded the initial version of this file. Today, someone has overwritten the file with a new version of it. I suspect that this may be vandalism, although I don't know anything about the topic. Could you check this? --Stefan2 (talk) 23:08, 1 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits to the DMB discography are brutal. You have compiled all the DMB Live Trax and DMBLive Series releases into one giant column. It looks awful now compared to how it was a couple weeks ago the last time I used it to reference the release dates of Live Trax specific issues. Please revert this back to the way it was, with the Live Trax series and the DMBLive series and the DMB Live Series releases all having their own independent columns. What "bootlegs" were removed anyway? Seems to me this was organized nicely into specific releases - DMB live album releases, "DMBLive Series" and "DMB Live Trax". The edits over the past couple days don't help anyone. I wish you had left it alone, I hope you know how to put it back.Dobyblue (talk) 22:10, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As a little additional info a brief poll on one of the fan sites shows 70% of people preferred the older version with the information intact on the discographies. I don't believe the other artist you've referenced is similar, the recordings are all contained under the "DMBLive" series moniker whether they are D+T, DM or DMB and thus I think this is an example that Wikipedia outlines as being "outside the norm" and so they should all be contained withing the DMB umbrella. I don't think lumping in all the live releases and separating out DM and D+T releases from within the same release series does anyone much good when looking for DMB discography. Link to poll - http://antsmarching.org/forum/showthread.php?t=310310. I appreciate that you feel the article needed some "tweaks", but I do not think the massive edits you've made could be labelled as such.Dobyblue (talk) 14:12, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have looked at the list and I think you'll find Tom Petty is in there, yet both Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers albums and Tom Petty albums are included. Seems to me this fits in with the discography style much in the same manner that the DMB discography would. As per DISCOGSTYLE, "if there is a reasonable justification for deviating from the above guidelines to most accurately or appropriately document an artist's body of work, then ignore all the rules and go with what's best for the article." I believe the additional style at the top you've implemented looks great, but lumping in all the live releases together when most of them can't be bought at physical stores instead of the organized manner in which they were presented before, by "Live" releases, "DMBLive" releases and "Live Trax" releases is a mistake and in this case I think there is a balance between the last April edit and your edits that should be reached to make this article more intuitive and more comprehensive.Dobyblue (talk) 15:31, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Those DM releases are not DMBLive releases, so that analogy is completely flawed. Dobyblue (talk) 12:41, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Featured lists?[edit]

As the work you do on many discographies is so extensive, I'm surprised you haven't nominated any for consideration as a featured list. If you like, I could put some of my comments on some discographies of your choice on your talk page, to say on how the standard could to raised to that of a featured list. This would save waiting for an extensive peer review (which is what I've had to do with my two featured lists), as I feel I've got a reasonable grasp of how to make these changes. As the work you've done is so good, that little extra push could result in many lists of featured quality. Send me a message if you're interested, and the discographies you'd like checking. Happy editing! I Am RufusConversation is a beautiful thing. 10:29, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

User:Holiday56/Discography Sandbox[edit]

I noticed the draft in your sandbox. The list looks well developed and I was curious what prevents you from publishing it? If you need assistance, I am happy to help. My76Strat (talk) 00:08, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Disregard, I see the list is published J. Cole discography. Cheers - My76Strat (talk) 00:24, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Upon further realization that your editing reflects interest in discographies, I wanted to share a new listing for discographies at "requested articles". You may add requests or fulfill requests at your discretion. The link is here. Cheers - My76Strat (talk) 08:48, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for June 28[edit]

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Gotye discography (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver)

Featured lists 2[edit]

Here's a list of things I've picked up whilst working on several discographies that need to be addressed if you want to make them featured lists. I recommend reading through WP:DISCOGSTYLE as well, as a lot of these points are covered there.

Infobox
  • Make sure all information in the infobox agrees with the lead. If you can't find a picture or the act in question, it doesn't really matter, but it does look better if you can. Browse Flickr for free pictures if you so desire.
Lead
  • Add references to statements about chart positions, etc. in the lead – it's part of the article as well, so it needs to be verified.
  • The lead is meant to summarize the whole page, so make sure you talk about songs that the artist/group has appeared in (of course, only if any). This doesn't need to be extensive – just mentioning a few of their most successful guest appearances, or someone who they have collaborated with regularly, will be fine (e.g., Lil Wayne discography could discuss songs such as "Soldier", "Let It Rock" or "Down", and his many collaborations with Drake and Birdman. Use your imagination a little here). However, make sure you are thorough in writing about the material of the act whose discography it is (all studio albums, at the very least, should be mentioned, and most singles).
  • Don't make it too long – not everything has to be written about. However, if the lead is particularly short (due to lack of material, for example, someone like Big Sean discography) or the artist is quite significant, and if you think it would help the reader's understanding of the page, then you could talk about the critical reception or the musical style of a particular album or two. However, be brief on this – this is only a discography, after all.
  • Try to divide the text up evenly – three paragraphs usually looks quite neat, although more can be used if the artist has released a lot of material or is especially significant. Use your own jurisdiction here (for example, Gotye discography's lead looks fine with just two paragraphs). If you can make the lead sentence ("The discography of so-and-so, etc.") lead into the first paragraph, this keeps the paragraphs (and the lead in general) more balanced.
Chart tables
  • As there has been some debate in the past over what the word "release" defines, it is preferred that the legend at the bottom of the tables should read '"—" denotes a recording that did not chart, or were not released in that territory.'. Obviously, if there are no empty cells in the table, then no legend is needed.
  • No ringtone certifications (mainly American and Canadian ones) should be listed, per WP:INDISCRIMINATE.
  • Certification providers must be listed instead of the countries (for example, AUS becomes ARIA, UK becomes BPI, and so on), to avoid confusing readers who might mix up the country headings used at the top of each columns. Also, if the country of the act in question is used in the table, then that certification must always be listed at the top (so RIAA for Eminem, BPI for Coldplay, etc.); otherwise, the certifications should still be in alphabetical order, although by provider this time. A full list of the certification provider abbreviations can be found at WP:DISCOGSTYLE#Listing certifications. Sales figures, however, should still use country abbreviations.
  • If a single or album has not charted in any of the territories listed, then they must always have a reliable reference proving their existence (iTunes Store, Amazon.com, Allmusic, etc.). Radio release references, as you know, will work fine as well.
Music videos
  • Similarly to above, all videos must have references to prove their existence, whether the director is mentioned in the reference or not. If you can, try to avoid mvdbase.com, as its data is entirely based on user submissions (and believe me, when compared against other sources, it often doesn't match up).
References
  • Make sure the correct dashes are used in reference titles – usually, en-dashes are appropriate, such as in the ARIA certifications (eg. "ARIA Charts – Accreditations – 2006 Singles").

That's all, really – some of this I'm sure you're aware of already. Every editor has slightly different personal policies, so they would give slightly different advice – however, this has served me well in the past, so it should be fine. Again, I recommend reading through WP:DISCOGSTYLE for further information on certain policies, and submitting pages for a peer review often irons out any wrinkles. If you have any queries, do not hesitate to ask me about anything. Again, keep up the impressive work you do! I Am RufusConversation is a beautiful thing. 15:39, 11 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello[edit]

Concerning your wonderful work over at Kanye West discography, was your intention to get a featured list our of it? Bruce Campbell (talk) 04:25, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Good luck on that! Bruce Campbell (talk) 05:03, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Concerning the nomination; I would support it, as it seems there a lack of comments on it. But am I eligible? I've worked on another Featured Article in the past and I'm familiar with the process but I'm an editor on a number of West related articles so that does pose me as biased? Bubbling Under positions[edit]

Seen some of your recent edits at Meek Mill discography, 50 Cent discography, etc. How are you suddenly privy to all of these positions? I Am RufusConversation is a beautiful thing. 11:25, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's fine for me too. Suppose we should archive the links, in case this is only temporary. I Am RufusConversation is a beautiful thing. 11:34, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
