Welcome![edit]

Hello, HistoryIsKeyToKnow, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Welcome![edit]

Hello, HistoryIsKeyToKnow, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as User:HistoryIsKeyToKnow, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. A tag has been placed on User:HistoryIsKeyToKnow requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. I do not wish to be deleted I've only just joined! Someone taking exception to me? HistoryIsKeyToKnow (talk) 14:20, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Just getting started with Wikipedia. Do not wish to be deleted. Thanks. HistoryIsKeyToKnow (talk) 15:50, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello HistoryIsKeyToKnow, I saw your message on the Teahouse. In the Speedy Deletion message above there are some links in blue – "deleting administrator" and "here". If you want to contest the nomination, or try to get something undeleted you will need to click on one of the links in blue and follow the directions you receive, and not write something on your Talk page. I am just an editor (like yourself) and not an administrator, so I can't help you out beyond suggesting you click on one of the links. And I can't see what has been deleted. I'm sorry you are having a difficult time, and I hope you figure things out, and stay on Wikipedia, working on history articles. Karenthewriter (talk) 22:32, 28 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You are free to delete this thread if you wish, or to archive it. The choice is yours. Sorry if I misunderstood your recent question at the Teahouse. Regards, Nick Moyes (talk) 18:23, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You can remove sections from your talk page but you must not add your books anywhere[edit]

It's not just the conflict of interest, it's also that they are not Wikipedia:Reliable sources as they are self-published. You are at risk of being blocked for spam. Doug Weller talk 10:12, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
