Torchic, a "featured" article?

I have made some minor corrections to this article.

I also left a few comments on the relevant talk page that might be instrumental in helping the article. As a frequent editor of Torchic, I suggest that you look at it as soon as possible upon your return.

Congratulations on getting Torchic to Featured Article status. I suppose you'll try getting it to Today's Featured Article status next. -- A. Exeunt 04:01, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Award

I, Banes, am honored to award HighwayCello this Barnstar, for, well, awarding so many Barnstars :) and for being a fine example of a kind wikipedian. (And congratulations on Torchic ;)). -- Banes 14:12, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

A short Esperanzial update

As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.

As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Wikibreak (though it may be over already!)

Hey Highway, though I just noticed, I hope you're having a nice Wikibreak. I think today is Saturday, but I also think that tommorow is the 25th, so I'm not sure if you'll be back today or tommorow, but we'll be happy to see you back whenever you do get back! -- Natalya 23:19, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

Grudgingly? That's no good - how come? Is it the same thing causing your wikistress meter to be on the rise? -- Natalya 11:17, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Pshhhh that is some silliness. Good thing it was deleted already, or I would have taken care of it. Sorry that you're still having issues with the whole sockpuppet deal, but you're doing well by sticking with it! -- Natalya 15:24, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

Right, I don't know which user to trust, you or Iloveminun, so im setting up a Wikipedia court at User:Poke Master/Court. When the page is created, please add evidence. Poke Master (TalkContribs) 11:36, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

Hmmm...

It is rather odd, learning to use edit summaries on your very first edit, and fair use criteria on your third, and they seem to have grasped quite complex formating (tables, subpages etc) within a day, but at the same time, they aren't making the same mistakes as the proven Minun socks. I don't think a checkuser would be appropriate yet, but he does seem over keen to get involved in a rather messy Arbitration case, which is also susprising for a newbie. smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 12:11, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

I've sent Poke Master a warning that ArbCom don't take too kindly to other "Wikicourts". I'm not so sure about Erupting Turtle; I think he is a genuine newbie that ILM is trying to befriend, or maybe a meatpuppet. smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 12:21, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Strange... Pika25 learns about image syntax on first edit, removes signature, and then Poke Master tells him to remove the sig. And what do you know... He likes Minun and Plusle too [1]! smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 12:32, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Freaky... that's one advanced userpage for a day old user. And as ever, they find PCP within the day. smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 19:33, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
I think so. One thing I've noticed is Erupting Turtle: 9 June → 14 June, Cute Minun 17 June → 21 June Pokemaster 22 June → 25 June, Pika25 25 June, Pokesaur 26 June → Now. They may be rapid discard puppets: when the community appears to notice one puppet, this one is discarded and another is created. smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 19:55, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
I copied the design off User:Sceptre's talk page. It said I could steal his design, and can you tell me whats going on please Pokesaur 19:57, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
I followed the link in your signature when I was reading the talk page for the PCP --Pokesaur 14:33, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
Anyway, it seems like somethings going on, what is it --Pokesaur 15:15, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

Advice

G'day, HighwayCello! ...no, I'm not Australian. I just needed a greeting that didn't start with an "H." Anyways, I came to ask your advice. The Omnitrix talk page is riddled with forum-ish comments. Do you think I should just delete them, like done on the Super Smash Bros. Brawl talk page? Or is there some better action I could take, like put that big notice at the top? Thanks.--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 04:02, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Eevee

Eevee failed the GA nomination because it didn't have enough real world information, and that seemed to be the only qualm of the reviewer. I would like to dispute this by using Golduck and Weedle as evidence, since they were passed and they seem to have as much real world information than Eevee. But I also don't want either of them to be delisted as GAs (since there could be backlash by drawing attention to them). Should I go ahead and dispute Eevee's GA failure? PCEevee talk 16:08, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Ok, thanks. I'm just a little too paranoid that this reviewer is trying to make sure fictional articles aren't included. PCEevee talk 16:35, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
I did some other minor stuff, and it looks better than before. Thanks for the help! When I resubmit it (I'm presuming it's still in several weeks), what should I comment about its former nomination? PCEevee talk 16:08, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Leave a note at the ArbCom case. I'll indef. block the original Iloveminun as a username change. smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 19:09, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

First let me say good job on listing all those problems with the article and I'll get right to them. However, there was at least one thing on that list that I don't exactly agree with. In the Strawberry Dorms section under the Seven mysteries subsection, it is called Seven mysteries because that is what the students at the school refer to the phenomenon as. Later, we find that there are in fact 12 seperate stories but only seven are known to each student, hence the name. Finally, only 8 are listed because those were the only 8 of the 12 presented and there will never be any more; it was purely an aspect of the anime and I highly doubt they'll touch upon it again. Listing what was given to me was all I could do. Also, adding an {{incomplete}} tag wouldn't do any good since aside from the cleanup (which I can do myself), no more information from the 4 missing mysteries or the ones not explained with ever appear in the series. Setting aside the fact that the last 5 listed aren't explaind and can't be explained per there is no information to fill them in, I would rather not like to take them out since they're still prevalent to the Seven mysteries subsection to the Strawberry Dorms.--Juhachi 15:45, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Re: Nintendo voice actors

I noticed that you feel that listing the voice actor for Kirby is not pointless. If knowing Kirby's voice actor important, then why not the voice actors for Mario, Link, Pikachu and maybe even Wario and Snake? It's just a thought, though maybe that's why Comrade Pajitnov felt the need to delete it from Kirby's section. Anyway, I'd like to know what you think. Take care. Zelda-stub

Hi, I was wondering if you got {{Zelda-stub)) passed for creation as a stub template. They are very picky about those :) Scepia 06:58, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

I totally understand, I wish sometimes it wasn't true. I can't delete it though as I'm not an admin, but it could be listed somewhere, I dunno where. Thank you, it seems to be a rather common thing. Scepia 08:14, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

I searched with Opera's Find (akin to MS Office) and couldn't find a proposal here. Perhaps you were confused by Wikipedia:WikiProject The Legend of Zelda series. I will list this for deletion, thanks for your cooperation. Scepia 08:31, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Nah, it was never listed for creation, I should remove that from the WikiProject. Yeah, I really didn't like my old account. Scepia 08:35, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

I added the link, sorry for the confusion. I realize I shouldn't have as there aren't the requirements for a stub template I think. Scepia 08:49, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

"Good number means about 60 articles or more, or 30 or more if associated with a WikiProject, though this figure may vary from case to case." from Wikipedia:WikiProject_Stub_sorting/Proposals It is unlikely there's 30 though... Scepia 08:58, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Gone for elections, de-stress

Perfectly percolated Esperanza blend coffee, just for you!

I'm not sure if it matters, but I figure I should let someone on the elections staff (conviniently you are on it!) know that I'll be gone for pretty much the duration of the entire elections. I may have limited computer access, but no gurantees.

In more important news, that warning message at the top of your userpage is certainly not looking good! Still the unfortunately sockpuppet business, I'm assuming? I wish I could do something about it, but in lieu of having any good ideas, maybe some yoga or meditation would help to calm you down? -- Natalya 13:12, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Ugh. Sorry. It's bad when both real life and Wikipedia are stressful.  :\ Perhaps some cafe Esperanza to cheer you up? -- Natalya 13:25, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
Try to get away from the computer! It's like watching a pot of tea that never boils. Ice cream is always good. :) -- Natalya 13:31, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Minun block

What was Minun's earlier account which was blocked, before he used this one? The history pre-Minun is opaque from the talk page, and his activities as himself (prior to being blocked) don't seem blockable. What's the origin of all this? Thanks. Georgewilliamherbert 20:19, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the reply, and I found the arbitration case as well. Context helps a lot. Georgewilliamherbert 20:25, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Heh. Thanks for catching that category typo. That could have been annoying, but no harm done. Georgewilliamherbert 00:50, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

For your sanity's sake

Note that this isn't a warning, and I'm not scolding you or accusing you of anything.

My suggestion is that you avoid all contact with ILM/Minun, especially when he is blocked (except for adding evidence to the RfAr). Lately, he's been a real terror, and I'd much rather not see you even more stressed out dealing with his nonsense. I think you'll probably be a lot happier for doing so, and the admins and Arbcom will deal with him in the meantime. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 21:45, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Project News
  • New article classification system, for our use and for Wikipedia 1.0. Very important and we need editor involvement. How can you help? Rate articles! It's easy:
    • Visit Wikipedia:WikiProject The Beatles/Article Classification and read about how to grade.
    • Visit Category:Unassessed Beatles articles and select an article to review.
    • After deciding what grade it should have, modify the invocation of {{WPBeatles}} on the talk page to add parms. The template itself gives you the parameters to use. For example, change {{WPBeatles}} to {{WPBeatles|B|Low}} if you think it's a low-importance, B-class article. Save your changes and make sure the talk page is now showing the ratings.
    • Click on the link in the template to edit the /comments subpage and explain why you rated the article the way you did. Don't forget to sign with ~~~~. Save that too.
    • Questions? Ask Kingboyk or Lar for help.
  • Want to stay up on new project developments? Watchlist all of the WikiProject pages plus The Beatles and each of the 4 members, to get a feel for what's happening. Also monitor and regularly review Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/The Beatles articles by quality log. If an article is listed on there as "added", go check the article's history. If it's new since the Project began add it to the Project Log as a new article and up the counter by one :)

Minun's very angry Feather

I have replied at User talk:Minun. This must be very stressful for you, but I must reiterate Man In Black's words above; try and stay away from Minun for a while. I've also placed the above letter in the history; it is still available, but it is rather long. Plus, it keeps Minun's email out of the spam traps.
