I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

Your message[edit]

My thought was that details of the first DVD to be sold in the shop wasn't strictly relevant to an article on the Foundation; it belongs in an article on the DVD, if one were to be written. If it hadn't involved commerce, the irrelevant detail wouldn't really have mattered, but as it is (and especially given the length of the article, and thus the relative size of this section) it seemed to me too much like advertising. Many thanks for the response. I take your point about the relative size of the section in relation to the whole article.

I also agree with what you wrote about Wikipedia increasingly becoming a series of online 'puff piece'. Having said that, as it remains informative, along with IMDB, it continues to be a frequently used site for me.

As you suggest, a page should be created (and I'm sure will be soon enough) for the Growing Up In The Universe DVD.

Someone other than you had previously deleted my text with the slightly charmless, 'spam - delete!'. I have to say that being descriptive about a series of Richard Dawkins lectures on a Richard Dawkins page differs greatly from my idea of spam and the nature of the spam I receive. :-)Hiddenart 09:41, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it was being descriptive about a DVD being sold in a shop, in an article about a foundation. The information might be OK at Richard Dawkins, in a "publications" section.

Inexperienced users sometimes just add their message to the bottom of the page, without making a new section. In such cases, it's best to mention it to the person whose Talk page it is, so that they can deal with it if they haven't noticed it.
