Speedy deletion of Indicybers[edit]

A tag has been placed on Indicybers, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD g11.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Tiptoety 01:22, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

September 2007[edit]

you have apparently been placing speedy delete tags on a number of other companies, with names resembling that of a company for which you have submitted an article, or that are engaged in similar businesses. I warn you about WP:COI. I strongly suggest that you stop doing this.

I also warn you about WP:COI with respect to your own contributions. See WP:BFAQ.DGG (talk) 03:03, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You have questioned whether the page Hindi Programming Language violates your copyrights. please specify exactly.DGG (talk) 03:06, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

===[edit]

"warn you"??? GO READ GFDL... please... Hindi Programming Language uses or at least appears to use sections from Hindawi Programming System. Hi pedler 09:04, 26 September 2007 (UTC) hi_pedler[reply]

you seem to be under some confusion here. Are you complaining that the material from one WP page was copied onto another, or are you complaining that material was taken from an outside site. If edits within wikpipedia are documented, they are not copyright violations. DGG (talk) 09:23, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

warning[edit]

Please stop. If you continue removing Articles for deletion notices or comments from articles and Articles for deletion pages, as you did with Hindawi Programming System, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. DGG (talk) 09:26, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

final warning[edit]

This is your last warning.
The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to articles from other indian companies, you will be blocked from editing.

this is 'not an acceptable response to people challenging articles on your own. Please once more, read WP:COI. DGG (talk) 09:26, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sir / Madam, if that pleases you... You have NOT done any background reading into either Hindi Programming Language or Hindawi Programming Language... Are these the articles or are they the products that they are supposed to talk about? The product Hindi Programming Language does copyright violations on a long established product Hindawi Programming System. The latter is GPL'd and hence Hindi Programming Langauge should have been GPL'd as well... instead of blocking me out please behave like a learned person should and lets have a healthy discussion... You seem to be behaving like a kid down the block Hi pedler 09:30, 26 September 2007 (UTC)hi_pedler[reply]

Request you to also read the hindawi FAQ and the links on the Hindawi Programming System page which you have probably deleted by now... You people are really making me stop believe in open source... However, and unfortunately, when people start paying _extra_ heed to WP one is left with no option but to try and make some corrections. Hi pedler 09:33, 26 September 2007 (UTC)hi_pedler[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Hi pedler (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I feel, though I may not be accurate, wikipedia has certain admins or volunteers who may be motivated and do not believe in the very principles WP stands for. I have been reporting about Hindawi Programming System (HPS) ever since its inception in 2004. The word Hindawi is very generic, and literally means Indian. HPS is a GPL licensed programming language suite published much before Hindi Programming Language (HPL) came into existence. Apparently HPL plagisrises the GPL'd technology of HPS without being GPL'd. Further with regards Hindawi Publishing, they were wrongly redirecting the page Hindawi to their WP page. Further, Indicybers is a respected organisation in India for Indic software and is recognised by Govt. of India. If generic information about this company deserves deletion then probably many other company pages deserve deletion.

Decline reason:

This account is not blocked. If you cannot edit, see {{autoblock}}. — Sandstein 13:45, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

you are correct that a good disambiguation page is needed, given the generic nature of the name. I will try to write one in an objective manner, so that the different articles are linked. In cases like this we use the full distinctive or registered names, and link from the short form. But arguments over who actually owns the technology are not to be settled by trying to delete articles on WP; if there is an article from a neutral RS discussing the dispute, that can be mentioned on the appropriate pages, but we are not a court of justice for intellectual property disputes. As for Indicybers, I encourage you to add verifiable information with sources--the article needs some more content. I think it is temporarily blocked against editing with an ip account, but not with respect to registered editors. The goal is to keep as much sourceable information about notable products and companies as possible.,DGG (talk) 06:18, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP:COI[edit]

From [1] " Hindawi Indic Programming System Project Admins: hi_pedler

Per WP:COI, you are required to propose changes to articles dealing with your firm or your products on the article talk page first, so that others can evaluate them. See, once more, WP:BFAQ. Otherwise, unless they can be confirmed, they will be removed. DGG (talk) 07:08, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, I agree with you. Hi pedler 08:33, 28 September 2007 (UTC)hi_pedler[reply]

Just a question though; was it a concern for you that hi_pedler happens to be an admin for the Hindawi Project on SF? Friend I request you to then read the FAQ in the docs in the same project. Maybe you can provide some valuable inputs to these articles! I am planning to translate the Hindawi programming system and Abhishek Choudhary related projects to Hindi and other Indian languages. Hope that's OK! How do you expect me to prove that Abhishek Choudhary has created the technologies Romenagari and APCISR. A link to the following article will probably help. It is a paper by Abhishek Choudhary and Sweta Karwa and explains Romenagari and APCISR. Possibly you can then create these pages. Hi pedler 08:40, 28 September 2007 (UTC)hi_pedler[reply]

Missed the link for the Hindawi paper earlier. Here it is http://www.indicybers.com/hindawi/hindawi.pdf This is _not_ just a web ref. This paper was the authors' contribution for the Computer Society of India National YITPA Award and was thus printed in the proceedings.

Can you also do me a favour - please undelete the Indicybers page :) Here's the ref you need http://www.google.co.in/search?hl=en&q=tdil+indicybers&meta= http://www.csi-india.org/chapter_news/CSICNewsJan05.pdf Hi pedler 08:47, 28 September 2007 (UTC)hi_pedler[reply]

you have to ask the admin who deleted it, Jmlk17. I neither deleted it nor marked it for deletion. But I suggest an alternative course: since it is apparently a division of Anamika Press, add the material to the page for the Press. That articles is very sparse and vulnerable, and it you combine the material, you might have one supportable article. You can then make a redirect (cross-reference) from the name of the division, And get some references from the trade press. give it a try. DGG (talk) 09:27, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you do not like what I have suggested, you do not have to follow the suggestions. But I first suggest that you work with me in getting these pages satisfactory, Just what is it that you want? I have suggested several ways to get satisfactory articles on the companies you are involved with. I have not the least intention of trying to write the article on Hinari (word) -that's your lookout . But I certainly disapproved and still do disapprove of your attempts to delete the article for your competitor Hindi Programming Language, and even a company in a different line of business but using that word in its name, (Hindawi Publishing Company -- or to redirect them to your own Hindawi Programming System. I remind you once more of WP:OWN and WP:COI and WP:BFAQDGG (talk) 03:42, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dear DGG sir, Why are you writing to me in the manner you are doing? I would also like to remind you of WP:OWN and WP:COI and WP:BFAQ with respect Hindi Programming Language. As about Hindawi (word) -- its _not_ hinari. Sir, you act in haste. Please stop doing so. You are a PhD in molecular biology and a librarian - I respect you for that. But _PLEASE_ let an expert in linguistics handle "Hindawi" - Besides its a "language" and NOT a "word". You are creating worng information on WP, Sir! Hi pedler 09:51, 30 September 2007 (UTC)hi_pedler[reply]

DGG sir, two more things: 1. The copyright violations by Shamit Tomar in creating Hindi Programming Language are going to be discussed. Shamit himself has created those pages Sir. 2. You had mentioned Hindawi Publishing to be an Indian publisher. What was your source of information for point number 2 Sir? Or was it that in your haste of meeting out the personal vendatta against me you did not even care to check out the respected publishers website -it only has offices in USA and Egypt. Slow down Sir. Let WP be an encyclopedia and not a yellow page of commercial entities. And sir, how can I move a request for censoring your admin rights with respect to such hasty behaviour and with regards to your involvement in wrongly editing material about which you have almost no idea? Hi pedler 09:57, 30 September 2007 (UTC)hi_pedler[reply]

Abhishek choudhary[edit]

First, the article has already been discussed once, so frankly it could simply be deleted. Second, the Choudhary article doesn't indicate him having notability on his own, simply notability through his involvement in Hindawi Programming System, so you can find on source of Choudhary, just about Choudhary, then he is considered notable on his own. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 17:59, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, see Talk:Hindawi Programming System and you should read WP:AGF (assume good faith). -- Ricky81682 (talk) 18:17, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for all the refernces on WP links and thank you for not being hasty. I agree with you regarding the way the article on Hindawi Programming System is written. It is more grammatical differnce of opinion than contextual; I will either correct it myself or request someone else to do so within a months time from the date of posting of the ad notice. As about WP:AGF, what else could I make out of it - DGG posted on your talk page and then you got involved. I will respond in detail later, but request you and DGG to not delete the related articles in haste. Hi pedler 04:10, 1 October 2007 (UTC)hi_pedler[reply]
as for me, I havent deleted a thing about this and do not plan to. The only relevant admin action I've taken ln this whole group of articles is to semi-protect to prevent destructive editing by unregistered users. I've deleted at least 100 articles this weekend, but none of these. DGG (talk) 08:26, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
