November 2020[edit]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Sami Yusuf, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Sami Yusuf; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. This applies whether or not your edits all come from one account. JBW (talk) 20:51, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sami Yusuf's only label record company is Andante Records. Awakening Records should be removed from his record label information HalaW25 (talk) 09:44, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Since you have continued to edit-war after receiving the above message warning you that doing so might lead to your being blocked from editing, you should not be surprised to learn that I have blocked you from editing. At present I have set the block to last just 36 hours, but you should take note that editors who return to the same unacceptable editing practices after a block are normally blocked for a longer period, sometimes even indefinitely. You should also bear in mind that other kinds of disruptive editing, apart from edit-warring, are likely to lead to being blocked; that includes editing to promote a point of view. If you believe there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may request an unblock block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, and then adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of this page. Hello JBW and whoever else is reading/monitiring/admining here. I obviously had some glitch before, for it is just now that I read all your notifications and notes regarding my edits and. I will make it clear that I have no intention of starting any edit-war here. I kept re-editing because whenever I refereshed the page I would find that my edit was reverted. As a newbie here, I didn't know that such edits need other procedures before being finalized/published etc. Had I known about the sandbox feature, I would have definitely drafted my edits there before publishing.

Now regarding my edit on Sami Yusuf being British or Iranian-British, I am not editing to efface any info. I mentioned the dual citizenship point because it was the header of the discussion per se

. My concern here is the emphasis on the phrase "Iranian-born" before stating his nationality and profession. If I can give an example of Keanu Reeves' wikipedia page, it says Canadian actor and THEN it says that he was born in Beirut. Having this example in mind, I would suggest that you kindly consider the part about Sami Yusuf's info since it is a matter of emphasis rather than blurring or withholding any piece of info that the reader needs to know. I suggest that, following the same pattern as in Reeves' article, you would say that Sami Yusuf is a British singer-songwriter etc etc THEN mention place of birth. With all due respect to every editor who was mentioned in this discussion, I would like to clarify that I don't own any of the accounts mention there nor collaborate with any of them to have any edit war Hoping that I made my self clear now Have a nice day everyone HalaW25 (talk) 20:34, 25 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
