Non-existent categories[edit]

Before adding a category to an article, as you did to BigBlueButton, please make sure that the category page actually exists. In some cases, it may be appropriate to create a new category in accordance with Wikipedia's categorization guidelines, but it is usually better to use the most specific available existing category. It is never appropriate to leave a page categorised in a non-existent category, i.e. one whose link displays in red. Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Proposed deletion of Wikitown project[edit]

The article Wikitown project has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Perhaps they are known under another name? "Wikitown project" is barely used[1] and not as such a notable concept.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hello Fram!

I think it is useful information that does not exist on other Internet sites. 'Wikitown projects' are still few, one in Wales, one in Gibraltar, two or three in Australia... but I think they will multiply quickly. In our 'eu.wikipedia.org' there are now four "Wikitown projects" and it is expected that there will be more soon, which justifies a parallel article in eu.wikipedia.org: https://eu.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herripedia Gorkaazk (talk) 13:05, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

We shouldn't create information which doesn't exist elsewhere (in reliable independent sources), we should only summarize information already available elsewhere. Once the topic is notable, we can have an article, but until then it shouldn't exist here. Fram (talk) 13:22, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
