Edits[edit]

Hello, and thank you for your recent contributions. I hope you will quickly familiarise yourself with Wikipedia and can make some positive contributions in the future. I'll try and address some of the issues you have raised:

  • Regarding the point of view pushing on the Electric Tepee album, you are correct in that the current "highlight of Hawkwind's 1990s albums" statement is unacceptable by Wikipedia's standards. However, merely changing it to "lowlight" doesn't rectify the problem. I hope I have addressed the issue and removed POV from the article to your satisfaction.
  • With regards to changes to the Dave Brock article, I take onboard what you are attempting to say, and have addressed the issues on the discussion page. Please feel free to raise your issues there and I hope we can come to some consensus that is acceptable to everyone.
  • Unfortunately, the WP:vandalism to the Klute (musician) article was unnecessary. I hope this lapse in quality on your part is merely down to you being a new user.

Please remember, if any contentious claims are made by yourself then they may be challenged which would require a cite from a reliable source to justify it. Many thanks for your time and effort. Drwhawkfan (talk) 23:06, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The issues you raised I tried to address on Talk:Dave Brock, but it seems to me that you are intent on escalating an edit war rather than resolving these issues by discussion. If no truce can be achieved through discussion, then perhaps a third party may help resolve this dispute. BTW, in what way could the statement "2004 - Zarozinia sample used on 'Saviour' by the Drum & Bass producer Klute (musician)" be considered POV? – Drwhawkfan (talk) 16:56, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your refusal to engage in discussion and continued revert of edits makes me suspect that you are in fact trolling. Nevertheless, I shall continue to try to engage you in discussion and reasoning:

  • I've added cites for Brock being the band leader and principal song writer to his article because, although this is accepted by most people with some familiarity of the subject, I feel obliged as you've repeatedly challenged the statements.
  • Your challenging of the statement regarding the use of a sample of "Zarozinia" by Klute is perverse, given that you have already acknowledged that it is indeed fact.

I hope that you can now accept the current state of affairs so that we can all stop wasting our time. Drwhawkfan (talk) 11:38, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed, the whole Klute thing is bizarre - the only question I would have is is it a sample or a re-mix - Listening to it I'd say it was more a re-mix than just a few second sample. But can it end now? You are the only one with issues - if you still have them then please reply here.--C Hawke (talk) 13:46, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There is no evidence whatsoever that Klute used any part of Zarozinia. Because you think you or someone think they heard it ? The references given do not state anything of the kind. And why would anyone want to sample that song anyway . In my opinion thats one of the worst Hawk songs. And why are people like yourself even bothering with Klute for anyway.... And the Brock reference doesn't fit your interpretation. Post the reference, not your interpretation of it .It says the musical focus and primary songwriter ,nothing at all about leader or lead singer. And just because you found some review by who knows who on some obscure website does not not mean that it is correct anyway. On that same website if you go to the Nik Turner bio it says he wrote "Silver Machine" . Is that correct too? Should I post that ? So whoever is writing bios on that site evidently is not familiar with Hawkwind history anyway. I only go online every once in a while ,not every day ,so I am never going to be that fast. I do have some vacation coming and will update some of the items myself with exact quotes with refernces .Because the bios right now are really pretty bad .They are all way too negative. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gingrichrook (talkcontribs) 08:10, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I accept that as a new user you are learning how things are done, and I'm willing to help wherever possible. Could you please try to keep discussions to discussion pages, the above contribution from yourself I've moved from my user page to your discussion page. And please remember to sign your discussions with four tildes. Regarding your intention to contribute further to Wikipedia articles in the hope of improving them, then I welcome and look forward to what you have to offer. Please try to remember that this is a collaborative effort. As far as the Klute issue is concerned, you know the facts full well and I'd like to ask you what your motivation is in this matter? — Drwhawkfan (talk) 11:58, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
