Hello[edit]

Hi. I see you're taking an interest in lesbian fiction. Is this a hobby of yours, or are you well-connected in the frightfully small circle of lesbian authors and publishing? --Moni3 (talk) 17:55, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Naiad Press logo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Naiad Press logo.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

File:Kallmaker2007-09.jpg missing description details[edit]

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:Kallmaker2007-09.jpg is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors to make better use of the image, and it will be more informative for readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 13:56, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A comment about Ibid's on Katherine V. Forrest[edit]

Excuse me, but I noticed your edit on the above article used the abbreviation "ibid" in references. I recognize it has been some time since you completed the edit, but it is best, in case the order of refrences change due to adding one or more references between the original ones, not to use ibid (see WP:Ibid for more information). I would change the references, but was somewhat confused by the format of the references. Would you please replace the ibid's with short references? Thank you. Indented line

I believe that I have corrected this. Thank you for the source on the right way to do it. FairySoap (talk) 05:47, 20 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Kallmaker2007-09.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Kallmaker2007-09.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Magog the Ogre (talk) 09:57, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well the file was deleted before I saw this message. I am certain that I noted on the file page that the author gave permission on her website - and I provided the link to that page - for any fair use purpose. What more permission could there be than that? How frustrating, because all the tags and stuff I filled out just to load the file were very confusing. I thought I had it all right. Giving a user less than a week to fix it is hardly useful. The previous notice that "information was missing" that I received made me examine the page for completeness and I didn't see what might be missing. FairySoap (talk) 05:36, 20 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is the information on the page, as it appeared:

== Summary ==
{{Information
| Description    = Karin Kallmaker
| Source         = kallmaker.com, 08-29-08
| Date           = photograph taken circa 2007
| Author         = Karin Kallmaker
| Permission     = Public Domain
| other_versions =
}}
{{Move to Commons}}

== Licensing ==
{{PD-author|Karin Kallmaker}}

The only thing I saw at the link given is, at the bottom, "COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL; ALL RIGHTS RESERVED." Magog the Ogre (talk) 06:28, 20 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
