Week 6/ SJ4452

I edited the following two articles: Cognitive bias (link to diff) and Positive mental attitude (link to diff).

Cognitive Bias Article: Added a citation talking about how cognitive biases influence endorsement of pseudoscientific beliefs, and also belief in disproven psychological ideas.

Positive Mental Attitude Article: Added a citation on how self-talk and mindfulness improve self-regulation, effective leadership in a professional setting and ultimately help foster a Positive Mental Attitude.

Week 7 / Xl112233

The first article I edited was time management. Here is the diff  of my edit. Editing this section of Wikipedia made me understand that cultural perspectives impact time management style and are reflected in behaviors and preferences among different societies. It emphasized the notion of cultural diversity that one should take into account when interacting with individuals of other cultures, but especially in global contexts.

The second article I edited was Competency-based recruitment. Here is the diff of my edit. Editing that section of Wikipedia taught me about the emphasis on competency-based recruitment, highlighting the importance of candidates' storytelling abilities as evidence of their competencies. It also underscored the fair and realistic approach of this recruitment method, particularly in public services, by minimizing recruiter discretion and focusing on clearly defined competencies.

Reflection

The Wikipedia extra credit assignment was a very intriguing and stimulating experience that not only helped me to comprehend different issues in the recruitment process but also opened my mind to consider culture as an aspect of time management. The process of reading and revising the article helped me to go deeper into these subjects, get new ideas that I didn't have before. Particularly, I realized the role of core competency-based recruitment and how cultural viewpoint could have an effect on time management techniques, while experiencing a major shift in my personality.

As for continuing editing on Wikipedia, I'm inclined to do so. It's a valuable platform for sharing knowledge and contributing to a global community. Taking part in various edits isn't only educational for me as it helps to extend my knowledge horizon, but at the same time, it gives me possibility to contribute something to the set of information that allows millions of people to gain the knowledge on variety of different topics. Furthermore, collaborative system of Wikipedia creates a feeling of belonging and contribute to learning experience which makes participation in Wikipedia worth carrying on.

Please see the other editor's reply and either revise what you added per the feedback there or assign yourself a different article to edit and ping me here to review. The second one here is fine. This Month in Education: March 2024

Week 7/Jrxijown

The first article I edited was Louvre, and there is the diff. I learned that the Louvre is not only a witness to history but also a participant in the making of it as Paris readies for the 2024 Olympics. The museum is hosting an exhibition that showcases the continuity and evolution of the Olympic spirit from its ancient origins to the present. Additionally, I discovered that the museum's connection to the Olympics extends beyond the exhibit, as its grounds will actively be part of the Olympic marathon route, integrating its cultural legacy with the vitality of the Games.

The second article I edited was aldi, and there is diff. From the advertising strategies used by Aldi, I learned that the company employs a diverse range of advertising methods across different countries, including television, newspapers, online platforms, and special campaigns like the Kevin the Carrot Christmas adverts in the UK. Jrxijown (talk) 03:58, 28 April 2024 (UTC)

Working on the Wikipedia extra credit was interesting but tough, and it taught me a lot about how online information is managed. I learned how important it is to be correct and careful when adding information. I might not keep editing on Wikipedia because it takes a lot of time and work to make sure everything is right. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jrxijown (talkcontribs) 03:59, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
