Ray Brady (filmmaker) moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Ray Brady (filmmaker), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Specifically, it needs more than just IMDB links and film listings - its needs real coverage by reliable sources. I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. @Singularity42: Hey, thanks for the guidance. I have a few more decent sources I can add so I'll get on that shortly! For my own future reference, how many different sources do you think would be necessary for an article of this length? I tried to avoid using IMDb where possible, except for awards, under which circumstance I have seen a precedent (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wes_Anderson#References ref 35), and for the cast list on one film, which is not marked as an inappropriate use according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citing_IMDb. Other than that, many of my references come from the BFI and the British Council Film Directory, both of which seemed to pass the test for reliability and independence, by my assessment (non-user-generated, non-self-published, independent, and secondary) but I'm new to this! Is it more to do with having a variety of sources? Thanks again. ElliotAWS (talk) 00:14, 5 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It really needs a few independent, reliable secondary sources to demonstrate notability. The sources right now didn't appear to support notability. Yes, he is a director. Yes, his movies are listed in BFI and IMDB. But that's not enough for notability. Check out WP:GNG and WP:DIRECTOR. Singularity42 (talk) 04:02, 5 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I should add that I don't think BFI on its own cuts it. That just confirms he directed movies. But it doesn't on its own make him notable. Singularity42 (talk) 04:04, 5 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
