PR[edit]

Hi Dwai, just wanted to bring your attention on this edit, from which I was offended from another editor. See the edit summary, which is indirectly attacking me. And do you see any purpose of having mentioned, "I knew without you too" in that page, and will it add any value to the ongoing PR? I have repeated several times, unless there is good faith on other editors, no one is going to benefit, nor the article. I am writing this in your talk page, per my earlier "Staying away" section in this page. :) Cheers - KNM Talk 17:32, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes[edit]

Yes. Exams got over 2 weeks back. Am trying to do as much work as I can in the 2-3 months free that I have. See Gautam Adani too. Hope to see it on DYK in a few days. - Aksi_great (talk) 18:27, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good work at Talk:India. You got them talking at least. I didn't want to jump into a controversy directly after coming back. I'll try to chip in as soon as I try to get a sense of what they are fighting about. At first I thought they were only fighting about the insertion of Kannada literature into the culture section, but now I seem that it's not just that, it's much bigger and more bitter. - Aksi_great (talk) 20:26, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think your assessment of the situation is perfect. Do tell me if you need help. I will keep an eye on the situation periodically. - Aksi_great (talk) 20:38, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dwaipayanc. I am waiting your comments on this PR. thanks.Dineshkannambadi (talk) 17:35, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mysore[edit]

Hi,

I have addressed some of your comments on Wikipedia:Peer_review/Mysore. Can you please check and strike-off those you think have been covered. Also, it would be good if you could review the other sections as well. Thanks -- ¿Amar៛Talk to me/My edits 04:50, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again![edit]

Hey, I noticed your new format for "access date" in the references (I mean - November 22, 2007 ---> 2007-11-22). Should I complete your work? Cause I don't really know what you want to do there.. and is your intention to make it only on "access date"s? Regards. ShahidTalk2me 11:17, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

100th DYK on West Bengal Portal[edit]

Asit Kumar Haldar by Bakasuprman is the 100th DYK on the Portal:West Bengal. On return from Bangladesh I was knocked down by broadband problems.I am gradually getting back to my old habits. Regards. - P.K.Niyogi (talk) 01:25, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Dwai![edit]

How've you been? I know you're very busy.

I just wanted to inform you that the daughter article of Zinta is now removed and is a redirect of the article, as requested. See talk page. The request was to merge, but seeing the DA, merge what? As you know, the info was very well balanced. And the daughter and the main articles are very very similar. The daughter article gives no additional info, only some non-notable one-line things, like the art gallery, the MMS etc (Meaning, if we integrated this whole DA into the main article, its length would increase in only one-two KBs). Also, it's practically the same stuff, it's only written in different ways (because of your great copyedits:))

Your purpose was to mention in details on the daughter article, what mentioned in short in the main article, but as said the guy who proposed the merging - "it all belongs to this (main) very article.", and everything which is now mentioned on the main article is notable (I haven't edited too much since out last talk. I'm yet to complete the refs format). It's merely basic. It's not really detailed, but it's well written and I like it.

So overall, I have no problem having a DA, but it has to be larger and as said one of the editors on the talk page, it must be also notable and give more detailed and expanded info (See Leonardo Da Vinci ha ha ha :)), but in our case, it didn't do that. We don't have to cut the article anymore, it is the DA which has to be expanded. If we decide to expand the DA, we can easily return it back.

Now, we have to do something with the refs, I'm really concerned about it. All the non-RSes were replaced. I think BOI is reliable, I don't know why everyone makes such a big deal (or only Sarvagnya). Best regards, ShahidTalk2me 20:23, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dwai, I strongly think that BOI and IBOS are reliable. They (I mean Sarvagnya) have no proof of its un-reliability. I proved its notability etc so it's OK. Nobody, from Sandy to Amar haven't mentioned it even. I won't concede for this site. It's OK, we'll just remove IMDb. As for the images, I dunno also, I'll check it. Regards, ShahidTalk2me 09:42, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Haor[edit]

It is heartening to hear that you liked the article on Haor. It was a great experience and I was absoloutely overwhelmed by the haors. Another place I liked very much was Sadarghat in Dhaka. It is a steamer station, like a railway station or bus station, but the pix did not come off that well. See Buriganga River. Regards. - P.K.Niyogi (talk) 06:11, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've had enough[edit]

Dwai!!!

I took a good decision. I don't want this article to become a FA, nor a GA. I'm happy with how it looks. Please let's leave it like this. Please see the whole thread on the noticeboard. I tried my best to make it as neutral as possible. Yesterday they had problems with RSes, today they have a problem with images and even reviews and tomorrow they'll have a problem with its existense on Wikipedia. Amarrg has given two reviews which apparently contradict each other and it's not true. See why:

Take for example the reviews for Chori Chori Chupke Chupke. Preity Zinta is described by Rediff as having the meatiest role. And indiaFM only supports the claim by saying "Between Rani and Preity, it is difficult to choose who's the better performer". Rani was the leading and Preity is described as equally good, while she is the supporting. So doesn't she have a meatier role?

Armaan: Amarrg has given me one review which criticises her, and I gave him two reviews (other than the one in the article, which praise her, and he ignored it.

I'm tired. Why don't they go and try to find the same on all these other FAs? Why? Jolie's page also includes only one review for each film, and they try to find disadvantages here. I'm exhauted. All my attemtps to write a good article are thrown back at my face. ShahidTalk2me 17:28, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to clear, what Amarrg had presented as unclear. See this. Regards, ShahidTalk2me 18:03, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What I tried to explain with this analysis is that the reviews on the article don't show only one side of the reception, but they represent the general reception for these particular roles. Meaning, Amarrg claims that the article is not neutral because there are negative reviews too. But I provided many other positive reviews. So that means that the opinion of the critic , is the majority opinion. If someone questions its neutrality, we can refer him to the talk page. Regards, ShahidTalk2me 20:00, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hello friend!
I wanted to tell you that what mostly hurts me here is that you made your best to improve this article with great copyedits. You had dedicated yourself to help me, and that's the main reason why I was so offended with the way other editors project the article's quality. Just started working on the article. Regards, ShahidTalk2me 10:37, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Please see again Talk:Preity Zinta#Reviews. I've added numerous other reviews from other RSes. The general reception, the majority opinion of critics is clearly positive. ShahidTalk2me 16:49, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fine[edit]

Amarrg now supports me with the analysis that I did here. Hope to see you asap. --ShahidTalk2me 15:51, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I see you're not here I wanted to ask your opinion on the following.
I've gone through the Bette Davis article, and bumped into this line: "Critics responded positively to Davis's performance and several of her lines became well known, particularly, 'Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night.'"
It instantly reminded me of Zinta's line in Dil Se when she asks Shahrukh Khan "Are you virgin?". On the article of Zinta we write that she was noticed for her forthright character in the film, so it could be a good example. Therefore, I've added, "several of her lines became well known, especially the one when she asks Khan, 'Are you a virgin?', and her portrayal of a middle..."
What do you think? If you think it's redunant, we'll remove it. ShahidTalk2me 17:37, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Rewrote it to this: "her scene with Khan, which had her asking him, "Are you a virgin?", became well known and her prtrayal..." ShahidTalk2me 19:38, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What do you think about Godfrey Phillips National Bravery Awards? I took it to DYK. ShahidTalk2me 12:27, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
LOL... No, I mean what do you think about the article? I took it to DYK. ShahidTalk2me 14:57, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, that's great! I will try and update every DYK. I see you're very busy. Hope you're doing well.. I intend to make the bravery article much bigger. I want to create articles for the annual ceremonies, with full lists of winners. Different individuals selflessly save others' lives, perform amazing social acts of courage etc, and I think they are the real heroes! I'm surprised that this award hadn't had a page on Wikipedia before, and I'm happy to be the one who started this article here. Just imagine to yourself, a 17-year-old girl, has saved 10 men from drowning; a woman wrestled with a leopard to save a little boy. Isn't that amazing? I'm happy that Preity won this award. She is indeed very brave. My best regards, ShahidTalk2me 15:58, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
