Miles

The main reason I changed your figures in Flight Unlimited II was both the capitalization and the fact that the conversion from square nautical miles to square statute miles was wrong; 13,400 square nautical miles is not 15,400 square statute miles, but rather 17,700 square statute miles. You converted it as a length rather than as an area. But then I also figured that square kilometers would be more useful than square statute miles, so I omitted the latter. I don't really care if someone else adds them back in, just watch it to see that its correct, okay? Gene Nygaard 13:48, 17 Mar 2005 (UTC)

You had to be right about the Rise of the Triad God Mode effect, didn't you? One of my personal pet peeves is people editing articles incorrectly... and I was briefly offended that you edited out the description... until I looked at my old ROTT literature. PS: Apologies in advance if I ever edit a Looking Glass Studios game article in a way that cheeses you off - too many of 'em get written by Uberfans of the game. Part of my "thing" on Wikipedia is editing these writings to be more realistic in regards to what normal or casual gamers thought of the games in question, and such edits tend to cheese off uberfans.

Just curious as to why you think there's a problem with providing links to their song files. It's not exactly a problem providing direct links when you can just as easily go to their site and download the songs from the exact same URLs. The Strangerhood

While Wikipedia is not paper, The Strangerhood is not anywhere near popular enough yet, nor the characters fleshed out enough to truly justify a seperate page for the characters, let alone pages for each character. Case in point, it wouldn't happen for Red vs Blue (unless, perhaps, the article got too long), and that has a lot more episodes, is a lot more popular, and has seen 3 commercial DVD releases.--DooMDrat 01:06, August 19, 2005 (UTC)

Computer game characters

Hi there! I appreciate your effort at cleaning out articles on minor characters from computer games. However, rather than nominating them for deletion, might I suggest that you simply merge them into a suitable 'parent' article or list, such as the article on the game itself? Whoops, sorry! It's just that I wanted to get it over and done with, instead of constantly switching between copy/pasted wikicode and edit summary. I should have thought to bring up all the Doom monster articles at once, paste the redirect code in each, then paste "Redirecting to Doom enemies" in each, THEN saved them. Sorry to side with that rude anon but i added back in the merge to templates for the remaining doom monsters. Anon does have a point that some of those minor monsters should not have their own article while the cyberdemon a notable character doesnt. perhaps the cyberdemon can be moved to its own article to reduce the size of the list leaving behind {{Main|Cyberdemon}} on the list page, and then moving in the last few non-notable monsters into the main list? Removal of links on RollerCoaster Tycoon

Could you please justify the removal of the link to New Element on the RollerCoaster Tycoon page? If the other fan sites are allowed to be on this list, New Element should be as well, as it is one of the most active parkmaking RCT communities. --Sb2k4 12:21, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

I guess it was a bit of a kneejerk reaction, but the description screamed spamlink. I realise that half of that description was added by a recent IP user, but even the version used up until before that was suspect: "A site with players who create the best parks possible using the software". Ok see that makes more sense. And yes i know Paul Marino. no need to bold it :P I was there for the awards and all that stuff. Got selected for screenings no awards :p but hey what can ya do. But What can i add in order to have craftingworlds as a notable production team?

P.S.And as for the first ever STORY LINED user movie, that IS a FACT. Trust me. I was in closed beta when I made it. But no need in arguing that as it is a minute fact.

Xbox 360 Pictures

Thanks, Drat. Those, and every other Xbox 360 pic uploaded by me, were taken from Paul Thurrott's Xbox 360 Showcase and his preview galleries there. But, and I must stress this, they are not his pictures. They are fair use promotional pictures, distributed by Microsoft. I saw them there and thought that Wikipedia might benefit from them, being as the pictures then in the article were of poor quality and badly named (e.g. changed from XBOX360wirelesscontroller0601.jpg to X360_Controller.png). I transferred them to PNG to give Firefox users the advantage of transparency (which sadly doesn't make any difference to IE at all), and cleaned a few up as best I could. This was in the relatively early days of my Photoshop work, though, and I admit that the technique is not at all great. You can find the originals (or my originals at least) in his X360 showcase galleries. I was going by Wikipedia:Naming conventions (definite and indefinite articles at beginning of name), which advises aganist using "the" at the beginning of titles unless it's a work. If it is actually referred to as "The Many", with a capital letter for "the" and always referred to as "The Many", like The Cheat, then I'll try to fix my mistake. Over the Counter-Strike

My initial inclination would be not to AfD the main OTCS article itself. It only gives about 524 hits on Google, some of which are false positives, but it seems to be the most (only?) even somewhat noteworthy example of Counter-Strike machinima.

As for the Holman article, my thought would be to merge information that isn't in the main OTCS article already in to there and leave "Jameson Holman" as a redirect. In fact, I'm wondering whether the RT crew member articles should be merged into Rooster Teeth Productions. -- TKD 11:05, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

Trap door

I changed 1 & 7 to jpg. How much will the whole page be now? I just read image use policy and i should indeed be using jpgs, i just dont like the lossy resize i see artifacts now, but ill switch them all over to jpgs if the total size will end up drastically smaller than 640k. I'm going to sleep on it now but the artifacts are really bugging me. List of South Park episodes is a featured list and its full of gifs, its possibly 1MB of images to download? no idea exactly and there havnt been any complaints on loading it, in fact a user on dial-up said he had absolutely no problem loading it. The only list where ive seen images loads become really problematic is List of The Simpsons episodes, although a lot of those have been removed recently for lack of fair use rationales, if you want to punish your browser look in the history. I've started a discussion on the image use policy page because in normal articles pngs are most certainly preferable to JPGs, while its a different matter for list articles with lots of pictures http://www.martindalecenter.com/AATimeCalc.html tells me it would take 90 seconds to download 640k on 56Kbps which i dont think is unreasonable considering the noticeable difference in quality. Project HDTP

I'm sure the article is going to end up deleted anyway, but what you did here is probably going to be considered bad form. You readded a deleted prod tag and deleted his attempt at asserting notability, both of which go against the guidelines for proposed deletion, which are that it is only to be used in situations when the deletion is uncontroversial. Chacterizing another editor's additions as "slobbering" is also pretty rude and probably falls under WP:BITE. None of us are perfect, but I'm hoping you don't dig a hole for yourself in the future by doing more of this. Night Gyr 13:29, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

This Spartan Life

I hope i'm using 'talk' properly. I'm not a part of the crew, i'm just a guy who absolutely loved the show on first seeing and was puzzled by its lack of a Wikipedia article. It's actually the first wiki article i've ever made. The credits section was pretty much copied from the official site just to flesh it out a bit. I do not understand the difference with http://www.lodgephoto.com ?

you withdrew my bonds on Wave Hill, whereas I board write the article on French Wikipedia and that by all my means I try to make known this corner of paradise of the bronx. Sites with photographs make it possible to make discover places, it is thanks to bonds of photographs which I board which been able to discover New York and San Francisco before going there.

My site is made only photographs.

Well then, keep in mind whitespace issues occur on screens wider than 1024x768. The gallery also allowed for more pictures to be added. I'm not sure that the reversion is clear-cut. Google gives 27,400 results for "+BloodSpell +machinima", and it's done by a notable crew (Strange Company).
