Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Dipanshah69. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article SAP Business One, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies.

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 15:25, 13 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Theroadislong. I have declared the COI on my page now. I have read the suggested page on COI and fully understand the implications. Any further editions/comments to the article will be sent as suggestions/requests on the Talk page.Dipanshah69 (talk) 16:25, 13 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

SAP Business One screen.jpg[edit]

Hi.

Thanks for uploading File:SAP Business One screen.jpg.

I renovated its description page and need your help finishing it. You see, a by mistake, you wrote your own username as the author of the screenshot. Legally speaking, that's not true. The author is the company that made the app. The person who takes a screenshot has no legal rights whatsoever, even if that person is an employee, CEO, founder or director of the company. I took care of that, but you should never repeat it in the future.

Another mistake is that you've written "Screenshot from software on my machine" as the source. This is wrong. First, it gives zero information to the reader. They don't know to whom "my" refers, and even if they knew, it mattered very little. Second, and most important, the source must help verify the copyright status of the image. You must write something like this:

Screenshot from [app's name and version], taken from a machine running [operating system name]. Shot by {{user|Dipanshah69}}.

For example:

Screenshot from Microsoft Office 2016, taken from a machine running [[Windows 8.1]]. Shot by {{user|Codename Lisa}}.

I'd be grateful if you fix this certain problem.

Thanks again.

Best regards,
Codename Lisa (talk) 06:46, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi and thank you.
Appreciate you changing some of the information related to the file that I uploaded. I understand about the legal rights - author is almost always the principal company that the software was created by (or bought all rights to).
I made the change that you had requested off me. More clarity is offered as you have suggested - thanks for that.
- excuse this emoji - just wanted to try a new one.
