Hi Dennis[edit]

Just seeing if I can get the hang of this talk page/editing of pages. One thing that I would like to learn from this class is how the EHR, and in particular the PCEHR plan on dealing with the issues surround "masking" by patients whilst maintaining their privacy/confidentiality.

Cheers!!

Wiki Exercise 1[edit]

Hi Dennis, One thing that I want to learn from HIM5IHC is how to creat e-forms which will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the healthcare providers.

ChaoDOU (talk) 10:56, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi De[edit]

Just coming to see u. Glad I'm the first three. Yeah! Regarding the one thing I hope to learn from the class, I'd like to say that generally getting familiar with EHR system. It doesn't have to be very very deep in every single field, just wonna dabble in a broad range of aspects within the EHR system.

Cheers,

Wiki Exercise 1[edit]

What I would like to learn from HIM5IHC by the end of this semester is to be able to implement and maintain a secure electronic health record system within a hospital or community health services environment.

From: Daphne Soh Dwhsoh (talk) 23:52, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Exercise 1[edit]

Hi Dennis, I'd like to be able to have a 'comfortable' conversation with an IT staffer about the technical challenges involved for EHR implementation and management. I'm picturing myself having that conversation about a specific health facility. I'd like to know generally what makes for a successful EHR.

Thanks and cheers, Cathy Davis 5IHC (talk) 23:24, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

For Exercise1[edit]

Hi Dennis. This is Mai. I would like to learn more information about EHR, the infrastructure and how can HIM use it effectively with focusing on privacy and confidentiality. Thank You. MaiSawangduan (talk) 10:54, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dennis[edit]

I would like to further my understanding about the ins and out of health infrastructure and all of its components within the health industry.

course page and such[edit]

Hi Dennis! I noticed your course page. Did you know about our new built-in system for creating course pages? See Wikipedia:Course pages for details. If you'd like to use that for your course, I'd be happy to port over the content for you and help you get started with it. It makes it a little easier to keep track of who is working on what and monitor the edits students are making as the class goes along. Also, your students might find our (relatively) new training for students useful. Good luck!--Sage Ross (WMF) (talk) 16:03, 15 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

For this class, since your students have already gotten started, you may want to just stick what what you've got. We just started using this new course page system this term, and it's a replacement for the course page wizard you used. It's a little bit easier for students to get started with, since they can enter the articles they are working on without having to edit a wiki table.--Sage Ross (WMF) (talk) 10:51, 16 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dennis[edit]

I am looking forward towards learning more about the EHR and becoming knowledgeable enough to be part of the system once implemented in Australia. Beata Steinberg (talk) 03:06, 16 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dennis[edit]

As part of IHC I am hoping to gain a better understanding of how patient confidentiality can be maintained, whilst ensuring that electronic health records and the data collections they feed into can be integrated. Cheers, Sharna Smith (talk) 07:53, 17 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dennis[edit]

From this subject I would like to know how Clinical Decision Support system works in improving patient safety and quality of care. I would also like to know how physician order-entry (POE) system works and how medication errors and adverse drug events are reduced. Thanks, Lakshmi Devineni (talk) 08:59, 17 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Exercise 1 message from Brendan Dennis[edit]

Hi Dennis,

I can't wait to find out what an archetype is and how it makes openEHR cool.

Wiki Exercise 1 - Jess[edit]

Hi Dennis I would like to gain a better understanding of systems and the impact and use they have in relation to EHR Thanks

Questions for Exercise Two[edit]

Hi Dennis, I have a couple of questions:

  1. Is it considered poor form to edit/suggest edits to grammar and punctuation for Wikipedia articles?
  2. Do you want us to put the subject banner on all the pages we are using/editing for our Wikipedia assignment, or just on our user pages?

Thanks, Sharna Smith (talk) 06:19, 20 March 2013 (UTC).[reply]

Hi Sharna

  1. No, you can certainly suggest grammar and/or spelling edits.
  2. You should put the banner on the talk page of your 'main' article. It is not so important on the pages you suggest changes to, but, if you want, you can put the banner there.

Exercise One - Leah[edit]

Hi Dennis, I am very interested in learning about the different ways an EHR can be implemented and the impact it has had so far on the Australian health sector. I also hope to gain knowledge about specific EHR technicalities and how long the process normally takes (in years) from planning an EHR to its "go live" date. Thank you!

Leah L Marino (talk) 07:50, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

EHRcom[edit]

Hi Dennis, I've just done Ex 2, and in scooting through some of the articles, have noticed that EHRcom and EN13606 seem to be about the same thing. If you click on the EHRcom link in the list of articles you provide, you are redirected to EN13606. Cheers, Cathy Davis 5IHC (talk) 11:55, 24 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Roger that! Leah L Marino (talk) 20:48, 25 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

I have poked around on your education project page, and am rather excited about your course. I notice, though, that the materials do not make mentions of the reliable sourcing guidelines for medical articles. I was wondering if you had had a chance to review them yourself, or present them to the students? Please feel free to respond either here or on my talk page. -- [ UseTheCommandLine ~/talk ] # _ 17:58, 24 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks so much for your feedback. I will go over the WP:MEDRS in my class next week! Dewoller (talk) 11:22, 4 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Critical Evaluation[edit]

Hi Dennis just letting you know l have chosen the Omaha System as both the wiki page for my critical appraisal and as my page to add information, l also considered LOINC, HIPAA and access control. I have completed my critical evaluation on the discussion page of the Omaha System, cheers. Caillin Austin (talk) 07:40, 24 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Enquiry 2[edit]

Hi Dennis, I have completed question 2. The link to the article I have evaluated (Continuity of Care Record), is on my user page. Thank you. TessVague (talk) 23:48, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Critical Evaluation[edit]

Hey Dennis. The topic I have chosen for the critical evaluation was the Masking of EHR's. Four of the other topics that I considered included LOINC, ProRec, HIPAA and EHR's. My critical appraisal on ProRec has been completed in the talk section. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nbjil29 (talkcontribs) 23:49, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Exercise 2[edit]

Hi Dennis, I have considered few articles as my potential project (SNOMED, DOCLE, HIPAA) and I have chosen SNOMED CT as my final selection. I have included few sentences on its Talk page as part of my critical evaluation of an existing article exercise. Beata Steinberg (talk) 00:16, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Exercise 3[edit]

Hi Dennis, I have added some information to the SNOMED CT page. Beata Steinberg (talk) 02:42, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Exercise 3[edit]

Hi Dennis, Just to let you know I've changed my major topic, as you may have seen. I've jumped off 'Medical Privacy' and on to 'Electronic Health Records'. I think the EHR article needs beefing up, the Australian section anyway, way too much American bias! The content that I would have put in the Medical Privacy article is better suited to EHR article. Cheers, Cathy Davis 5IHC (talk) 00:47, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Exercise 3[edit]

Hi Dennis, just to confirm I've added some info to the Medical Privacy article. And for now, I've made yet another jump, I'm back on board Medical Privacy article for main topic. Cheers, Cathy Davis 5IHC (talk) 02:11, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
