Hi: Could someone crop the photograph I have uploaded for the article on David Foster Wallace? DFW tragedy (talk) 01:37, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks.DFW tragedy (talk) 01:42, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I would like a portrait for the Infobox. It might not work but if it does then at least there is a smiling photograph of DFW in the article.DFW tragedy (talk) 01:41, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have a bigger pic? Just curious. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshellsOtter chirpsHELP) 01:53, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, that's the biggest. Maybe it should just be used as is?DFW tragedy (talk) 01:55, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That works. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshellsOtter chirpsHELP) 02:00, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, but did you try? Because it can't be used in the Infobox then. Is it really impossible which is quite possible given how small the photograph is.DFW tragedy (talk) 02:02, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

My reason for appealing the block: I would like to know what happened? Did I rave or something?

Decline reason:

You were blocked since it seems that you are the same person who was blocked as Manhattan Samurai. Unless that account is unblocked (which seems unlikely, although it's theoretically possible that it will happen), that person isn't allowed to edit Wikipedia, and all accounts which seem to be operated by him/her are also blocked. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 14:01, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

We think you're User:Manhattan Samurai. I'm listening, though. Gwen Gale (talk) 13:54, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wow. No, I'm not him. DFW tragedy (talk) 13:59, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Od Mishehu! Why are you under the impression that I seem to be operated by Manhattan Samurai? LaraDFW tragedy (talk) 14:03, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You claim to be in heavy email contact with him, something that his socks always say. You somehow got into contact with him despite having only made about 10 edits over a year ago in a manner identical to his socks (he makes lots of SPAs to do a few edits, then drops the SPAs). You use the same overwrought language and occasionally uncivil edit summaries. Off to CU. Bali ultimate (talk) 14:08, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Woah. No I've never done any SPAs.
For someone with less than 50 contribs, you're mighty deft. Gwen Gale (talk) 14:51, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I guess, thanks. I prefer to watch more though. LaraDFW tragedy (talk) 15:13, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sock investigation[edit]

You can respond here and admins looking into it will be sure to read it. [[1]] Bali ultimate (talk) 16:07, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi... I don't know what to do there but I couldn't do anything anyways. It said exactly 'Block evasion: User:Manahatten Sumurai no, I think it's very likely him'
That's what I put in the block log, it's still what I'm thinking but I could be wrong. Let's wait and see what CU comes back with. Gwen Gale (talk) 17:04, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If you care to you could explain here on your talk page these apparent coincidences and similarities, though you don't have to. That's up to you. Bali ultimate (talk) 18:37, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No need. Gwen Gale (talk) 19:04, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
