What is your server config / do you allow IRC on it / do you have python2.3 and mysql and the python mysql libaries installed? -- Tawker 08:51, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

AWB[edit]

As a guideline, users with under 500 article edits are not usually approved for the AWB. (See the top of the requests page). Unfortunately you currently have 143. The reason for this restriction is to make sure vandals can't easily use it for rapid vandalism. Please reapply after you make 500 article edits. Thanks, good luck, and happy editing,

Your recent edit to Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to recognize and repair vandalism to Wikipedia articles. If the bot reverted a legitimate edit, please accept my humble creator's apologies – if you bring it to the attention of the bot's owner, we may be able to improve its behavior. Turns out, it WAS vandalism (see "Did YOU vandalize" at bottom). All the text in the article was deleted, and the edit description was (ha ha) "dude, this freaking rocks". It might have been someone else using Crazynas's computer. SupaStarGirl 12:39, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The short version is I was stupid and loaned my computer out to someone I shouldn't have. It won't happen agin. Crazynas 15:44, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I was just looking through your contributions to see if it was a vandalism-only account, and it clearly wasn't. I was in the middle of typing a message to you, when I saw your "HELP", and was also going to ask for advice at WP:AN/I. From looking at your other contributions, I have no problem in believing what you say, so I'm going to unblock. Cheers. AnnH 15:49, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome back. I've unblocked, and I've worded the block log so that it can't be "used against you" if you get into a dispute with someone in a few months' time. (Though I hope you won't!) I would have informed you of the block sooner, but I was looking through your contributions and feeling more and more puzzled, and was in the middle of typing a message to you as well as getting ready to post a message at WP:AN/I, asking for a review. That won't be necessary now. Happy editing. Cheers. AnnH 15:56, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Apology accepted, although I should point out that Musical Linguist technically blocked you seconds before I had a chance to. Also, might I suggest that you look into the "clear private data" feature on FireFox. I find it comes in handy for situations like this. Take care. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 16:27, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • Yes, indeed, it was I who blocked you, and not Zzyzx11. Anyway, I'm glad it's sorted now, and I don't think you'll be lending your laptop to that "friend" again. AnnH 16:52, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your VandalProof Application[edit]

Dear Crazynas,

Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact with the new 1.1 version release it has even more power. As such we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that for security reasons, VandalProof's creator requires it's users to have made 250 edits to articles, which you have not. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again in the not too distant future. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof.

Prodego talk 02:29, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good luck! Prodego talk 02:40, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ska Revert[edit]

Please take a look at the provided sources next time you tag an article. Dymphna Cusack received an Australian Medal and the source lists her as a multi-book author which makes her notable. If you find the article too short, please tag it for cleanup or use {{db-empty}}. If you overlooked it, don't sweat. Mistakes are human. Just be a little more careful. :) - Mgm|(talk) 11:07, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • You tagged Come In Spinner (a book of hers) as well. If the article looks better to you now, there shouldn't be a problem. I checked your recent activity and I didn't find any other stray speedies lying around. - Mgm|(talk) 11:15, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • It's okay. You said sorry twice now. I believe you! :) - Mgm|(talk) 11:21, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to VandalProof![edit]

Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, Crazynas! You have now been added to the list of authorized users, so if you haven't already, simply download and install VandalProof from our main page. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or any other moderator, or you can post a message on the discussion page. Prodego talk 23:20, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism?[edit]

I don't undertstand how I can vandalize my own user page? Maybe you thought I was someone else because I wasn't logged in, but I was just making a few quick changes. If so, thanks for the vigilance. Pckeffer

Thanks[edit]

Thanks for reverting my user page. I was about to but you beat me to it. : )BW52 04:13, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your revert to The Matrix[edit]

Please could you explain your recent revert to The Matrix? The information which had been added seemed fine to me, as it was correct, but you reverted. Explanation on either my or the article's talk page would be appreciated. Thanks! --Tim 15:06, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I thought that was probably the case, but I wanted to check in case you had a problem with it. Thanks a lot for sorting it! --Tim 15:17, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Objectivism and such[edit]

Thank you very much for the invitation to the Objectivism wiki. I'd love to contribute. I was wondering if you would take a look at the pseudoreligion article and maybe clean it up a bit. I'm going crazy trying to make the part about Objectivism NPOV. LaszloWalrus 20:24, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Did you vandalize?[edit]

On May 22, 2006, someone replaced the George W. Bush page with a short message essentially saying "F--- Bush!". The vandalism even came with an edit description- "f--- bush", with no capitals. And, if there is nothing wrong with the edit history, Crazynas did it! Similar vandalism was found on a couple of other articles. All the vandalism was on May 22. Was it really you, a member of the Counter-Vandalism Unit, that vandalized these pages? Or was it your little brother or a high schooler that was using your computer? Welcome to Esperanza![edit]

Welcome, Crazynas, to Esperanza, the Wikipedia member association! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member, you might be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is the StressUnit, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Possibles.

I encourage you to take an active voice in the running of Esperanza. We have a small government system, headed by our Administrator general, Celestianpower, and guided by the Advisory Committee, Titoxd, JoanneB, and Freakofnurture.

If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact me by my talk page, Celestianpower by email or talk page, or the Esperanza talk page. Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users on our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, please see the IRC Tutorial, which was written by one of our members. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to be!

Thanks! G.He 22:10, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Leave my User profile alone im trying to fix it up

I'm the user 211.28.255.185, the user who you reverted my edits about mayonnaise having a higher IQ than elmyra. This is actually true, it was mentioned by buster in the cable TV episode when they were watching Toonywood squares. Trust me, I've seen this episode so please leave it on the page.

Thank you,

Hello[edit]

Hello, sorry about the vandalism. I was just trying to test the editing feature. I will use the sandbox next time. You should also know that this is an open proxy, and can be used to vandalise by many people. I think you should put it on the open proxy ban list. Request sprotect for Ted Kennedy[edit]

Hello. I saw that you cleaned up the latest anon vandalism on Ted Kennedy. The Ted Kennedy article is constantly being vandalized, always by anons. A semi-permanent sprotect would eliminate all of the incidents of anonymous vandalism. The George W. Bush carries a semi-permanent sprotect for the same reason. I really think that it would be helpful for Ted Kennedy. Would you please add it, Mr. Admin Sir? Thanks!--AStanhope 02:03, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

hehe - I wondered if I wasn't jumping the gun on identifying you as an Admin. Anyway - thanks! --AStanhope 02:11, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I see what confused me... The way VandalProof formats its edit summaries makes it look like you are using the admin tool for reverting. --AStanhope 02:12, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have brought sprotect up on the Talk page. What is needed is a sympathetic Admin. Every Admin I have discussed this with is unwilling to leave an sprotect on the page. It is an ideological thing: The existence of an sprotect is a obstacle to the truest "open" ideals that the Wikipedia represents... An sprotect prevents a casual visitor from tuning up an article on the fly. In practice, however, I think the sprotect will solve more problems than it creates. sprotect disallows anonymous edits to a given article... The process for registering an account on the Wikipedia takes (literally) 30 seconds and doesn't require an email address! Given that, we needn't fear preventing anonymous edits to an article like Ted Kennedy because if somebody has a productive edit they wish to make to the article, they can simply take the half-minute to register and away they go. --AStanhope 02:36, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
