Thanks & advice on images[edit]

Hi & welcome. Thanks for your edits and the useful kidney images you are adding to the Commons. There is a real lack of good medical diagrams on wikipedia and yours have real potential to add to the encyclopaedic quality of the articles.

I would like to offer some constructive advice on your images and editing - I have made some medical focussed .svgs myself (this one on plasmids is probably the best).

On editing, when adding images, please do not tick the minor edit box. This should be used for spelling/markup/small grammar errors, not substantial changes to articles.

Please also consider which and how many of the images are useful to the article. Your additions to Proximal tubule for example add quite a few to the gallery - galleries should only include images that add to the article. Your .svg outlines are useful and should be linked on the Commons by category so that people can use them in their own images.

With the images themselves many of them have a lot of whitespace (see File:Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease.svg). I also feel use of fairly large text labels can be helpful within the images so they are readable without expansion - unless they are too complex.

I'm going to look back through your edits and prune some of the additions that don't add much to the articles. Please don't be offended by this, and keep up the good work! |→ Spaully ^τ 10:44, 12 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yes reducing the canvas size to the image should do it.

With something like this nice image (File:Complex_proximal_tubule_with_acid_base.svg) it would be made better from an encyclopaedic point of view with an indication that the left side is the lumen. You could even colour code the channels, or number them, so the image description could link to the channel pages. If I get some time I will try to do some editing of them myself.
