@SounderBruce: Do you I have to change the default when I use the auto citing tool then? ChessEric 19:39, 31 October 2023 (UTC)

SPI case

Hello ChessEric: while impersonation attempts can be very distressing, I assure you that the SPI cases where you were recently mentioned are being taken as what they are: spurious reports by some LTA. See [1], where the report was reverted as a clearly bad faith attack. Best, MarioGom (talk) 09:50, 1 November 2023 (UTC)

@MarioGom: I saw that before. I actually didn’t even know about the bogus SPI case on me until after it got reverted and the one against Chaseline started. I wasn’t feeling well nor was I in the best mood when I learned about it either. In any case, I appreciate what was done and thank you and everyone else for what was done on my behalf. This is my fourth year on Wikipedia, but I think I’ve learned more this year than in all my previous ones combined. Again, I appreciate what was done for me and wish you the best of luck for the future. ChessEric 02:22, 2 November 2023 (UTC)

The last few days...

After what transpired over the last few days and concluded with a bombshell at ARBCOM today, I need a really stiff drink. Noah, AATalk 23:36, 2 November 2023 (UTC)

...what ARBCOM? ChessEric 04:05, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
@Hurricane Noah: Wait, so there was an ARBCOM case on an admin who then admitted that they were just a sockpuppet of another admin who got blocked? I thought the sockpuppets of Andrew5 were crazy, but a sockpuppet admin to a blocked admin? That's CRAZY! XD ChessEric 04:26, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
She held up the lies for nearly a decade and we would have been none the wiser had she not confessed. I'd say to keep vigilant because she probably will try sneaking back sometime in the future. You don't realize how much effort and care she put into crafting the Lourdes persona for her ill gotten gains. She makes frequently blocked sockmasters look like amateurs. Noah, AATalk 15:13, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
@Hurricane Noah: Absolutely...wait are you an admin? ChessEric 15:31, 3 November 2023 (UTC)

Oh...so basically the same as me. ChessEric 15:59, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
I had autopatrolled temporarily before the WPTC case but it expired and I never sought to get it renewed Noah, AATalk 16:07, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
Well, I one-up you there. XD ChessEric 18:58, 3 November 2023 (UTC)

Not for nothing, but Wikipedia always needs more administrators. Namely: people who actually give a shit about the continued success of this project, and have the best of intentions, rather than lying or fibbing. Sorry to chime in, just wanted to

  • CLINK

to you both. Cheers, ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 19:40, 3 November 2023 (UTC)

LOL! Thanks, but I don't think I'd have the patience to be an admin. I'm not one for always dealing with people's BS and having to make so many decisions independently. ChessEric 19:44, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
It takes the patience to be able to reply to requests, and knowing what kind of decisions you have to make. I often use my admin tools for page moving, but also occasionally for blocking or protecting pages, none of which are the most difficult decisions. If you've been on here long enough, you know that some people are trolls, and some people make a genuine effort to do good. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 19:52, 3 November 2023 (UTC)

WP:BRD

I won't revert you again, but you're out of line. Please see WP:BRD. In short, you were Bold to make the edit(s), but someone (me) has disagreed with you and Reverted that addition. The next course of action is to Discuss, not restore the additions. I specifically cited this best practice in my edit summary, yet you chose to ignore and re-restore the contentious content. This is being discussed at WP:USRD and should not have been restored before that discussion concludes. If consensus supports you, the content can be restored then. If it does not, it shouldn't not be in the article in question. I highly suggest that you revert yourself and remove the addition until the discussion ends. Imzadi 1979  05:57, 5 November 2023 (UTC)

@Imzadi1979: The discussion is not about the content being put in; it's about splitting the page. That's different from what I'm doing. However, I was a little erratic over the last 24 hours and doing multiple things at once (from filing a police report on someone for scoping one of my families vehicles to running errands) and, therefore, just reverted without really thinking about it. For that, I apologize and will self-revert. However, I'm somewhat confused on how WP:BRD works; I've had that said to me before, but I thought that it only applied to the person making the edit, not the person reverting it. Which one is it? Notice of noticeboard discussion

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page) 20:41, 29 November 2023 (UTC)

  • I'm pinging you since the AN opener forgot to. Andrew5 is accusing you of being a sockpuppet of...wait for it...Andrew5! XD. Feel free to watch or comment: Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard#Abuse of processs by Wikipedia administrators regarding Andrew5 and Long Island based IP addresses interested in weather and baseball. You probably should at least comment since you were directly accused in the AN, but it is up to you, given it is just a comedy right now. XD The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page) 20:41, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
@WeatherWriter: Oh my god. This s*** again? I haven't even edited in three days, and I didn't even get to participate in this. WTF? ChessEric 23:29, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
Yeah, just Andrew5 being comical. Here is a perm link to the discussion in case you wanted to bookmark the comedy. The admins had fun with it as well, especially the closing "dunkin" remark. Anyway, sorry if the AN notification freaked you out. Andrew5 didn't alert you, USM, or myself to the AN and an admin is the one who alerted me to it. Just thought you would like to watch/read the comedy show of an impersonation, accusations of being a sock, and of course, accusations of paying off the admins. LOL. Anyway, have a good day! The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page) 23:41, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
@WeatherWriter: Okay; I had seen the stuff about Dunkin', but I didn't realize just how far this dude went. He tried to impersonate USM! LOL! One thing I know about USM is that he doesn't apologize about s*** on Wikipedia (not a criticism BTW), so he failed BIG time there. ChessEric 08:34, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
