August 2022

Information icon Hi ChessEric! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Vermonter (train) that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 02:11, 4 August 2022 (UTC)

Oh sorry. I was only doing that out of habit since most of those edits are normally just that. May I ask what edit you are referring too? ChessEric (talk · contribs) 17:07, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
[1] This edit added an entire sentence. By Wikipedia's definition of a minor edit, this is not minor at all. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 17:08, 4 August 2022 (UTC)

Oh. The reasoning was also mentioned later in the article, which was probably why I marked it as minor. My bad. I'll work on that so I don't make that mistake in the future. I'm always grateful for the feedback people give me as I don't profess to know everything on Wikipedia despite being here for over 2 years. Thank you for letting me know. sup broski. So ive tried wiki editing and i suck so instead of trying to add im just gonna relay some info to you. On July 8th a EFU landspout touched down in illinois. Its info is on the DAT. There was also a 3rd tornado confirmed in the chicago area on the 23rd. Only 2/3 have been added. It was in manhattan IL. and also there are two more tornadoes that were confirmed by NWS La Crosse on the 23rd. I do a lot of research and would love to just relay you info so you can add them since i suck ass at editing. Thanks dude. IndyPlaneSpot (talk) 20:08, 28 July 2022 (UTC)

LOL! I am a little estranged from the more recent tornado pages due to some issues I'll had with two of the project members, but I saw those two tornadoes. I'll add them in. ChessEric (talk · contribs) 20:29, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
@ChessEric I noticed you removed some. Here they are https://twitter.com/NWSChicago/status/1551373625449521152 There was 3 of them. Obviously as wikipedia people we both get triggered at missing info so to save myself for losing my mind there are those 3 and here are some others in minnesota and wisconsin on the 23rd. https://www.weather.gov/arx/jul2322 Thanks man. I see you didn't address the last section of copy issues here and wanted to remind you. I know you've had a lot of concurrent GANs, so I wanted to get your attention briefly. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 22:39, 21 August 2022 (UTC)

@Sammi Brie: Thank you very much. I will get back to that soon. This one is the most complex one of the three I'm doing, but I want the GAN to stay up if you don't mind. ChessEric (talk · contribs) 22:45, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
Of course. It's only been three days, and a standard GA hold is seven. I just wanted to make sure you did not straight up forget. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 22:52, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
Thank you! ChessEric (talk · contribs) 22:57, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
@ChessEric Have you considered joining WP:DISCORD? I'm on there, and I'm also happy to assist with finding more newspaper sources for your use. I strongly suggest you look into getting Newspapers.com access yourself through WP:TWL. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 02:01, 26 August 2022 (UTC)
@Sammi Brie: No I have not. Thanks for letting me know. ChessEric (talk · contribs) 02:14, 26 August 2022 (UTC)
If you join the server, ping me. I'd like to be of utility in finding the newspaper sources you need. Clearly, you need them, given the issues with the NCEI data. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 02:16, 26 August 2022 (UTC)
@Sammi Brie: Okay. I'm a little busy now that college has started back up, but if I remember, I will. ChessEric (talk · contribs) 02:18, 26 August 2022 (UTC)

The article Great Lakes tornadoes of September 26, 1951 you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Great Lakes tornadoes of September 26, 1951 for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility.
