Hi ChessEric,

I warned this users of making accusations without evidence. In addition, looking at his edits, most were unnecessary or disruptive. I have given the user a warning, and I hope his disruptive editing stops. Cheers! ~ Destroyeraa🌀 00:40, 4 November 2020 (UTC)

ChessEric and Destroyeraa: looks like he is deleting warnings, and I dought he's reading them, let alone listening to them. I like hurricanes 20:15, 4 November 2020 (UTC)
I warned him of being reported. Then I tried to be nice and friendly

, but he reverted that also. If he continues to disrupt Hurricane articles, I’ll take it to ANI.~ Destroyeraa🌀 23:01, 4 November 2020 (UTC)

@Destroyeraa and I like hurricanes: Thanks guys! He has been annoying.ChessEric (talk · contribs) 01:39, 6 November 2020 (UTC)

The user has stopped ranting as he got learned from a 5000 byte essay on User Talk:Jason Rees. Thank Jason, who did the real work in finding evidence in this content dispute.~ Destroyeraa🌀 22:20, 6 November 2020 (UTC)

Protection for Hurricane Iota

Hi again Eric,

Thought I'd write to you as (hopefully) an ally in sensible editing of the hurricane pages. There is a particular amount of vandalism about God on the Hurricane Iota page by unregistered users and IP addresses. Was just thinking, do we want to consider adding semi-protection?

Best, and I hope you're well, Jack Bellminsterboy (talk) 17:58, 16 November 2020 (UTC)

@Bellminsterboy: This person has been doing this repeatedly for the past few hurricane articles and it is annoying as heck. I believe a protection is in order.ChessEric (talk · contribs) 18:24, 16 November 2020 (UTC)

@ChessEric: grr, how annoying! Pleased we agree - can I be of any assistance? Bellminsterboy (talk) 19:13, 16 November 2020 (UTC)

@Bellminsterboy: Not sure what you mean by "assistance", but anyway you can help is greatly appreciated. Also, you don't have to ping me if you are on my talk page LOL!ChessEric (talk · contribs) 19:20, 16 November 2020 (UTC)

Force of habit I guess :-) what I meant is can I be of any help setting up protection on the page? Bellminsterboy (talk) 19:27, 16 November 2020 (UTC)

There is a page where you can request a protection for an article, but you'd have to ask someone like Destroyeraa or Jasper Deng which page it is because I don't remember at the moment.ChessEric (talk · contribs) 19:45, 16 November 2020 (UTC)

@Bellminsterboy:  Done. Also, ChessEric, what is it like to be in an EF4 tornado for more than an hour? ~ Destroyeraa🌀 20:20, 16 November 2020 (UTC)
@Destroyeraa: I don't know...and I don't think I want to know. LOL! Technically however, Iota is currently a high-end EF3 tornado. (166-200 mph is EF4.) However, I'm sure the people of the Northern Bahamas can tell you.ChessEric (talk · contribs) 20:23, 16 November 2020 (UTC)
@Bellminsterboy: I'm glad to tell you and ChessEric that Iota has been protected. It has taken a lot of work, and the vandal has been really unhappy, vandalizing TornadoLGS's and my talk pages (and I don't know how many more). ~ Destroyeraa🌀 22:16, 16 November 2020 (UTC)
@Bellminsterboy and Destroyeraa: LOL! They actually vandalized my talk page and I did nothing to them this time around.ChessEric (talk · contribs) 22:31, 16 November 2020 (UTC)

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Hi there ChessEric,

I've noticed that recently you've rarely signed your comments on talk pages. In case you forgot, it is four tildes: ~~~~. Please remember to do so in the future. Thank you. ~ Destroyeraa🌀 15:09, 19 November 2020 (UTC)

Hurricane Michelle

When I'm browsing Wikipedia:WikiProject Tropical cyclones/Assessment/Tables/Atlantic, there is a reason why 2001 Atlantic hurricane season isn't a GT, and this is because Hurricane Michelle isn't a GA. I'm glad that you're working on it now. But, could you please consider nominating Michelle for GA? I want you to note that we lost so many GAs from mergers, and nominating this article for GA could be helpful. When it was last reviewed, it was failed because for many reasons - but of course TheAustinMan came in and filled in the article. Like many articles TheAustinMan got in touch, most of them is now GA. This one appears to be not. SMB99thx my edits 13:01, 20 November 2020 (UTC)

@SMB99thx: Huh? All I did was some cosmetic stuff. I wasn't really working on it per se. Also, I don't know how to nominate articles for GA.ChessEric (talk · contribs) 17:04, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
Okay then. BTW, to nominate articles for GA, please see Wikipedia:Good article nominations/Instructions. Long story short, just put {{subst:GAN|subtopic=Earth sciences}} to the top of Hurricane Michelle's talkpage. I trust that you can do it. SMB99thx my edits 02:22, 21 November 2020 (UTC)
Oh ok. However, you might want to see this conversation I had with Destroyeraa.ChessEric (talk · contribs) 02:19, 22 November 2020 (UTC)

ChessEric, I am in no way trying to discourage you from improving tropical cyclone articles. Youa re very good at improving tornado articles, and since tornado season will kick up in...four months. Tornadoes first brought me to Wikipedia, but I found out about WPTC and then left the severe weather wikiproject for no clear reason. ~ Destroyeraa🌀 16:18, 23 November 2020 (UTC)

Also, just know that I don't go around vandalizing people's talk pages. ~ Destroyeraa🌀 16:18, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
@Destroyeraa: Oh no you weren't discouraging me at all. Its just that I have a ton of things I want to do on here and the 2020 Atlantic hurricane season kept taking up all that time. Also, I know that wasn't you (the person just made a similar name to make it look like you, but I recognized it right away), so don't worry. Ironically, this person actually just vandalized my page again...on my birthday. LOL!ChessEric (talk · contribs) 17:50, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
