Geographic Coordinates[edit]

You recently created an article for Loss Creek, which contains geographic coordinates.

Here's some useful information can use in articles when you want to specify geographic coordinates:

Here's an example of converting a set of plain-text coordinates to a link to many different online maps:

Instead of using: 124° 4' 9" W, 48° 29' 49" N

Try using this link to many maps instead: 48°29′49″N 124°4′9″W / 48.49694°N 124.06917°W / 48.49694; -124.06917

The link above actually is actually coded as follows, in the edit window:

{{coord|48|29|49|N|124|4|9|W}}

The {{ characters signify the start of a template.

coor is the name of the template.

dms is a parameter that tells the template you are using degrees, minutes, seconds.

The degrees, minutes, seconds are separated by the | character.

Use N or S for North/South, and E or W for East/West.

The }} characters are the end of the template.

Red-tail![edit]

Hi Chaosdna. Yup, it's definitely a Red-tailed Hawk. And you're right—they are big, particularly the females. That lovely strawberry-blond tail is a great field mark for an adult bird, and you've captured it well on your second picture. How lucky you are to have this as a "yard bird"!
