Political Prisoner[edit]

I appreciated your input on the Political prisoner talk page, and I'm dissapointed to see that you've managed to be blocked over this dispute. I belive that could have been handeled better by more experianced editors, and I'm glad to see that you're back editting.

Please stop-readding material to the page until there is some consensus. While you're not being trated very well, you'll end up blocked again if you don't stop. Can you please reply here (on on my talk) and explicitly acknowledge that you'll slow down and not re-add the material? - Well, I did offer to discuss the entry. There's really no point if someone's going to delete it immediately, without reading the citations and claiming that they're doing it because the citations aren't up to muster. That Bidgee would be more credible if it took him longer than thirty seconds to delete the entry--calling him a liar, which I stopped short of doing, seems well within the bounds of reasonable discourse, given that he couldn't have read the citations that he claims are inadequate.
- In any case, it seems like the final solution was to delete the whole entry. That wasn't my intention, but its fairer than what was going on before. As someone else noted, my entry was very well sourced and documented, and had official statements from Manning's lawyer, who is also a military official. I'm fairly new to Wikipedia. - To date, you've been doing as well as can be expected under the circumstances. I'm not at all pleased with the number of times you re-added the material to the page, but I am quite sympathetic to why you were doing so. I'm hoping that all concerned editors can take part in reasoned discourse, and now that the whole section has been removed that may be possible. One thing that often catches out new-comers is the dichotomy between how quickly the page can actually be editted and how slowly agreement on those edits comes about.
- The article isn't going anywhere. Taking a week to sort out on the article's talk page a clear, consistant set of inclusion criteria is worth the time.
