Moved article[edit]

Hi Carly! I saw the note on your talk page and went to check your draft for the citations. While I was doing this I noticed that the draft was written a lot like an academic paper as opposed to an encyclopedia article. Don't feel bad - this is actually a pretty common issue with a lot of editors that are new to editing, especially students. I myself did the exact same thing when I began editing, to be honest.

The biggest things to point out is that you have a lot of original research in the article and you have a questioning tone in the article that doesn't fit Wikipedia's WP:MoS. What I mean by this is that you use the sources to come to your own conclusions and you have a very humanistic viewpoint in the article. As a research paper this would not only be appropriate, but it'd make for a good paper, however as an encyclopedia article it just doesn't really fit. The article needs to be rewritten in order to more resemble an encyclopedia article. I also noticed that the article only had three sources and on a topic like this it's a good idea to find a wide variety of sources. (Offhand I don't think that this will be an issue at all!)

On a side note, you can probably use some of the sources from Female suicide bomber in your draft. I've moved this back to the draftspace so you can work on it and I'll try a few tweaks here and there to help out. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 13:58, 16 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Two more things, the first is to be very, VERY careful when labeling someone a terrorist in an article. This can be considered a WP:BLP issue and my personal recommendation is that unless the main article for that person labels her a terrorist and there are multiple independent, reliable, and extremely authoritative sources that call her a terrorist, I would not list them on the page. Even then, I would call them an alleged terrorist or say something like "So-and-so has been called a terrorist by (insert names or organizations, etc here) because she has....". The reason I'm saying to phrase it like that or not at all is because unless a person is labeled a terrorist along the lines of Osama bin Laden, we're kind of forced to phrase things extremely carefully.

Second, it looks like when you tried doing a repeated citation you were writing "<ref> name="Bombshell"></ref>", however for repeated citations you need to do something like this: "<ref name="Bombshell" />". My personal recommendation is to edit with Visual Editor, as it's easier to format the article and make a repeated citation since all you have to do is copy and paste the citation to the end of what you're trying to cite.
